Six more arrests have been made in connection with a sprawling welfare scheme in Lakewood, according to the Asbury Park Press. These follows eight prior arrests that had been made earlier in the week.

“This is just the beginning,” said a law enforcement agent close to the investigation.

Ice from three of the UK’s biggest coffee chains has been found to contain bacteria from faeces, according to a BBC investigation.

Samples of iced drinks from Costa Coffee, Starbucks and Caffe Nero contained varying levels of the bacteria, the BBC’s Watchdog found.

Four people have been arrested in the UK following an investigation into scams involving calls from fraudsters pretending to be IT support staff.

It follows two years of work by City of London Police and Microsoft, who teamed up to tackle the problem.

An FBI agent has been indicted on federal accusations that he lied about firing shots at Robert “LaVoy” Finicum in 2016 when officers arrested leaders of the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge occupation.

The charges stem from a federal investigation into “mystery bullets” fired before Finicum was killed by Oregon state troopers in Harney County.

A 6-foot-tall stone Ten Commandments monument installed Tuesday on the Arkansas Capitol grounds was toppled less than 24 hours later after a 32-year-old Arkansas man drove a vehicle into the statue, apparently while streaming the act live on Facebook, officials said.

Chris Powell, a spokesman with the Secretary of State’s Office, said he was called early Wednesday and told a man drove a vehicle through the monument. That driver — identified in an arrest report as Michael Tate Reed of Van Buren — was arrested by Capitol police shortly after, Powell said. HONG KONG (AP) — Global stocks edged lower on Wednesday as investors fretted over the prospect of tighter monetary policy from major central banks. KEEPING SCORE: Germany’s DAX fell 0.4 percent to 12,618 while the CAC 40 of France lost 0.2 percent to 5,246. Britain’s FTSE 100 edged almost 0.1 percent lower to 7,433. WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Poland’s prosecutors said Wednesday they have charged the former leader of a massive anti-government movement with misappropriation of the movement’s funds and false statements in its financial documents.

Mateusz Kijowski, the former head of the Committee for the Defense of Democracy, or KOD, and the movement’s former treasurer were questioned by prosecutors in Swidnica, in the southwest. LONDON (AP) — British prosecutors charged a former senior police officer with manslaughter Wednesday as they announced the first criminal cases in the 1989 Hillsborough stadium disaster that left 96 people dead — many of them crushed against metal fences — and changed English soccer forever.

The families of the victims have waged a decades-long quest to seek justice for their loved ones, who they believed were unfairly blamed in the April 15, 1989, tragedy.
