In an article for Public Books, Lisa Wade, a sociology professor at Occidental College (which, I’m embarrassed to say, is my alma mater) recently wrote that “we should reject the idea that men have a psychic need to distinguish themselves from women.”  Why?  Because “masculinity is toxic.”  In fact, we should be “suspicious of males who strongly identify as men.”

Frankly, I’d be more suspicious of males who identified as something other than males like, say, toasters, or unicorns, or their great-aunt Mildred’s long-lost cat. It seems to me that those males would be delusional and therefore far more suspicious than males who actually identified as males. Since that’s what they are. It would at least display a much stronger grasp on reality than our dear friend professor Wade.

The bottom half of adults in the world collectively own less than the richest one percent, according to a Credit Suisse report. The gap between the super-rich and the poor has significantly grown since the global crisis.

The wealthiest one percent owned 42.5 percent of global wealth in 2008, the bank reports.

“The downward trend reversed after 2008 and the share of the top one percent has been on an upward path ever since, passing the 2000 level in 2013 and achieving new peaks every year thereafter. WASHINGTON (AP) — Congressional Republicans on Tuesday projected confidence about delivering on an overhaul of the nation’s tax code with President Donald Trump planning an in-person appeal to lawmakers ahead of a crucial House vote this week.

“This bill will make things better for hard-working Americans,” House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., told reporters. House GOP leaders rallied support with the rank-and-file at a closed-door meeting. VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. (AP) — Officials have postponed the California launch of a new type of U.S. weather satellite intended to improve the accuracy of extended forecasts. A press release from Vandenberg Air Force Base says the planned launch was scrubbed early Tuesday because of an unspecified issue and managers didn’t have enough time to resolve it.

The launch of the Delta 2 rocket has been rescheduled for Wednesday, at 1:47 a.m. PST. LAS VEGAS (AP) — A stubborn rancher’s refusal to recognize federal authority in the West will be presented to a jury in Las Vegas, where a trial is set to start Tuesday for cattleman Cliven Bundy, two of his sons and a co-defendant accused of leading a 2014 armed standoff against government agents.

SAN DIEGO — Saudi Arabia’s largest dairy company will soon be unable to farm alfalfa in its own parched country to feed its 170,000 cows. So it’s turning to an unlikely place to grow the water-chugging crop — the drought-stricken American Southwest.

Almarai Co. bought land in January that roughly doubled its holdings in California’s Palo Verde Valley, an area that enjoys first dibs on water from the Colorado River. The company also acquired a large tract near Vicksburg, Arizona, becoming a powerful economic force in a region that has fewer well-pumping restrictions than other parts of the state.

On the crisp fall night of October 9, 2016, there was an electric energy in the air at Washington University in St. Louis for the second presidential debate. Hillary Clinton ended the first debate with a below the belt attack on Donald Trump accusing him of bullying a former Miss Universe beauty queen. There was a sense in the air that Trump – famous for his counter punches – would swing back with a TKO, and boy, did he deliver.

World Events and the Bible

WEB Notes: It is plain as day obvious they are conditioning the people to this sort of fear and testing. Some people are upset with it, but the more we hear about it the more accepting the public will be about it. Repetition, repetition…

It should also be obvious as day this test from a scientific point of view is bogus. All they will prove is how that specific building will block chemicals and nothing more. All buildings are different and designed differently. They all have different intakes for air. They all have their own vents and cracks that will allow chemicals into the building.
