A church in a Swedish city has defended its choice of gender-neutral pronoun ‘hen’ in reference to Jesus in an advertisement. The church insists the word gives “new perspective.”

In November, the largest religious institution in the country, the Church of Sweden, advised its clergy to avoid terms like ‘Lord’ and ‘He’ in worship services in order to not highlight that God is male, in the new version of a handbook on how to conduct services. The move has triggered a backlash, with critics saying the change undermines the Christian concept of the Holy Trinity and politicizes faith.   Continue reading “Swedish church pushes for neutral gender reference to Jesus”

Gary Busby has been ordered to report to the federal Bureau of Prisons to start a six and a half year sentence on March 8, 2018. He is 65 years old.  He was convicted of one count of dealing in firearms without a license, and four counts of structuring financial transactions to evade reporting requirements.  The press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Texas says the firearms charge was for conspiracy to illegally manufacture firearms.  The description of the crimes appears to be illegally selling firearms, not manufacturing them. From justice.gov 8 Dec, 2017:   Continue reading “Buy Receivers, Assemble Rifles, Shady Characters, Lots of Cash, Go to Jail”

The rifle-toting man who gunned down a Colorado deputy in a New Year’s Eve “ambush-style” attack had ranted about the sheriff and a local police officer in recent online posts discovered after the assault.

Matthew Riehl, 37, fired more than 100 rounds as he was holed up in a bedroom in his apartment in Highlands Ranch, before he too was found dead at the scene. The Douglas County Sheriff’s office identified Riehl as the gunman Sunday evening.   Continue reading “Gunman in deadly Colorado deputy shooting identified as Iraq War vet with grudge against sheriff”

As of January 1 transgender individuals — those who identify and behave contrary to their biological sex — are free to serve in the U.S. military. While President Trump announced last July that transgenders would be banned from serving in the armed forces, in October a federal judge partially blocked the president’s ban while a number of lawsuits filed by transgender soldiers and groups opposed to the ban proceeded in court.

In late November U.S. District Judge Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly followed up with her original decision by ruling that her injunction meant the Defense Department must move ahead on the order given by President Obama in June  2016 allowing transgender individuals to enlist beginning in July 2017. Defense Secretary James Mattis then changed that deadline to January 1, 2018 to allow the Pentagon time to decide how to proceed with the issue.   Continue reading ““Transgenders” Now Free to Join U.S. Military”

Happy New Year, America! Somehow, we all survived 2017 and we’re still breathing. America hasn’t been shattered yet, North Korea hasn’t yet nuked us and Baltimore still has at least a few citizens who aren’t heroin addicts. So drink up and party down while you still can. You’ll want to sober up quickly so that you can face 2018 with a degree of seriousness, because a lot of the craziness that didn’t quite bubble to the surface is 2017 is now primed for a 2018 eruptionContinue reading “Happy New Year, America! Changes are coming to the way drunk drivers are policed and prosecuted in Alberta with the provincial government set to issue a directive to police that will largely decriminalize impaired driving, CBC News has learned.

Officers will be given wide discretion whether to criminally charge those who blow over the legal limit. But, for the most part, first time offenders will see roadside administrative sanctions rather than face criminal charges according to CBC sources.   Continue reading “Drunk driving to be largely decriminalized in Alberta in 2018”

2017 has taken us on quite a ride. The events of this year once again eclipsed the events of the previous year, a trend that continues year after year.

In the United States (U.S.) we saw everything; historical Monuments removed from our nation, homosexual Pastors continuing to marry one another, we saw a multitude of immoral sex scandals right down to financially broken and even sick American households and so much more.   Continue reading “2017 In Review: Morality Crumbles, Debt Accelerates And Global Powers Turn Their Attention To Iran”

Police arrested a Los Angeles man on Friday after he made a revenge prank call — a “swatting” — to police in Kansas about a potential hostage incident that resulted in the police killing an innocent man.

Tyler Barriss, 25, was arrested in South Los Angeles on Dec. 29 on suspicion of making a hoax 911 call to Wichita, Kansa to claim that Andrew Finch, 28, had a family argument that resulted in the shooting death of Finch’s father. The call also claimed that Finch was holding his brother, sister, and mother hostage; that he had poured gasoline around the home; and that he intended to light the home on fire in a murder-suicide.  Continue reading “Los Angeles Gamer Arrested After Police ‘Swatting’ Death”

Recently the Walt Disney World resort chain began to phase out those familiar “do not disturb” hotel door hangers that seem to have been around since forever. But the chilling reason this is being done seems to be a sign of the times in which we live.

According to reports, Disney has phased out the signs at its main hotels, The Polynesian, The Grand Floridian, The Contemporary and The Bay Lake Resort. It its place the hotelier has substituted a “room occupied” door hanger, AOL reported.   Continue reading “Chilling Reason Disney is Eliminating ‘Do Not Disturb’ Door Hangers is a Sign of the Times”

Adding to the pressures on bitcoin early this morning, the Sydney Morning Herald reported that bitcoin users across Australia are reporting that their accounts have been abruptly frozen by the country’s “Big Four” banks. And while the banks have remained largely tight-lipped about the closures, many angry account-holders are jumping to conclusions and blaming the banks for punishing them because of their involvement with bitcoin.   Continue reading “Australian Banks Reportedly Freeze Accounts Of Bitcoin Users”

Nestlé has been taking more than 60 million gallons of water per year from the San Bernardino National Forest, according to California regulators, which amounts to billions of gallons of water stolen over the past 68 years — without any valid basis of right to the water.

A two-year investigation by the California State Water Resources Control Board revealed that Nestlé, which sells water under the Arrowhead brand, lacked the proper permits for the vast majority of the water taken.   Continue reading “Nestlé Caught Stealing Billions of Gallons of Water from California—No One Arrested”

Over the Christmas holiday my wife and I went back to Maryland to visit family, and like any other reasonable person, I decided to drive an hour and a half north-west to Hagerstown in hopes of capturing a glimpse of the much-talked-about United Nations vehicles stored in this secret Maryland facility.

Here is what I found….  Continue reading “I went to investigate the United Nations vehicles in Hagerstown, Maryland…Here is what I found”
