When I mention the year 2014 do any events stand out in your mind?  Some of you may think of births of family members or special anniversaries or incredible vacations that you took.  You know the kind,  the ones you wish you could take every year because they were just that amazing?  Yeah, I love those too.

But when I think of 2014, two things come to mind. Let’s start with the second event.

We moved (usually a fun thing) in November of 2014.  Continue reading “What Civil Unrest Is Really Like: We Survived the Ferguson Riots”

They’ve arrived.

Four huge cranes bound for the Port of Tacoma cruised into Commencement Bay on Friday afternoon.

The cranes, built in China, are 434 feet high with their booms extended. They crossed the Pacific aboard a re-purposed tanker called the Zhen Hua 28.  Continue reading “Huge cranes complete journey from China to Tacoma”

After decades of United Nations “peacekeeping” troops and officials raping women and children all over the world with complete impunity and even “diplomatic immunity,” a chorus of global outrage and media attention is reaching epic proportions. A handful of predators are now facing justice. But the tsunami of public fury comes as widely reported estimates suggest some 60,000 victims have been raped and sexually abused by UN officials over just the last decade — with almost nobody punished but the victims and whistleblowers.   Continue reading “UN Exposed as Haven for Child Rapists; More Scandals Coming”

For the last week or so, the entire nation has been talking about gun control — or at least the media has been talking about it.

The sudden tsunami of gun control stories, articles, op-eds, and segments is the result of the terrible mass shooting that took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in beautiful Parkland, Florida.   Continue reading “School Shooting Plot Exposed: You Won’t Believe Who Set It Up”

The Broward County Sheriff’s office announced that Deputy Scot Peterson resigned after being suspended for not engaging the shooter at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He had been making over $75,000 a year as the school’s Student Resource Office, a position he had held since 2009.

While the report of Deputy Peterson’s inaction has understandable resulted in public outrage and disgust, it’s important to note that the Supreme Court has found that government police officers are under no obligation to actually protect the public.

Israeli authorities and armed forces carried out extrajudicial executions, tortured Palestinian prisoners and targeted human rights defenders, Amnesty International’s new annual report says.

2017 “marked the 50th anniversary of Israel’s occupation of the [occupied] Palestinian Territories” (OPT), Amnesty noted, “and the 10th anniversary of its illegal blockade of the Gaza Strip.”  Continue reading “Report: Israel carried out extrajudicial executions, tortured children”

How do you stop a mass shooting before it starts? Here’s an idea:

How about if FBI agents actually investigate when threat after threat is called into your tipline?

I’ve written previously about numerous warning signs about Nikolas Cruz were ignored before he shot up Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School on Valentine’s Day. The FBI was well aware of Cruz and his potential to become violent before the horrific event in which 17 people lost their lives ever occurred.  Continue reading “From the FBI’s Own Records, Here Are the Chilling Warnings About Nikolas Cruz They Ignored”

As calls for gun control increase among the parties that claim it would put an end to mass shootings, an investigation is revealing that state sheriff’s deputies are taking the firearms they have seized from individuals and re-selling them to generate revenue—only to find that some of the guns go on to be used in other crimes.

According to the results of an investigation reported by the Associated Press, in the state of Washington alone, “more than a dozen of the guns sold by law enforcement since 2010 ended up in new crimes.”  Continue reading “Cops Are Taking People’s Firearms, Selling Them to Make a Profit and It’s 100% Legal”

The Weinstein Company board members said Sunday night they were dropping a sale process and instead pursuing bankruptcy, blaming the decision on bad faith by prospective buyers Maria Contreras-Sweet and Ron Burkle.

Inspired by Singapore’s policy of executing drug traffickers, President Trump is said to relish the idea of putting major dealers to death – who he is said to compare to serial killers, Axios reports.

“He says that a lot,” said a source who’s spoken to Trump at length about the subject. “He says, ‘When I ask the prime minister of Singapore do they have a drug problem [the prime minister replies,] ‘No. Death penalty’.”

The Supreme Court on Monday refused to hear the Trump administration’s challenge to a lower court ruling temporarily blocking it from winding down the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

The decision delivers a blow to the Trump administration, which argues that DACA is unconstitutional. It also could ease some pressure on Congress to quickly come up with a legislative solution, however, since it means the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals will continue to review the case.    Continue reading “Supreme Court refuses to hear Trump challenge on DACA”

A gang of all-terrain vehicles and dirt bikers caused chaos on the streets of Boston Saturday. The group was eventually stopped by state troopers who shot one of the men in the foot.

The group of up to 30 riders on ATVs and off-road bikes were riding in a “reckless manner,” Massachusetts State Police said in a statement. Officers struggled to rein in the group as they sped through the streets, performing wheelies and swerving between cars.    Continue reading “Bikers v cops: Chaotic chase through Boston ends in roadblock shooting”

Condoleezza Rice doesn’t “understand why civilians need to have access to military weapons.” The former Secretary of State’s comments are seemingly at odds with her support for the 2nd Amendment.

Rice, George W Bush’s secretary of state, was speaking to radio host Hugh Hewitt on Friday when she questioned the need for military weapons. “I think it is time to have a conversation about what the right to bear arms means in the modern world,” she saidContinue reading “‘I don’t understand why civilians need military weapons’ – Condi Rice”

Saudi Arabia is undergoing a truly seismic shift in its economy, politics, and society, all thanks to the oil price crash of 2014.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, commonly referred to as MBS, would likely not have had the opportunity to initiate the sweeping changes envisaged in Vision 2030 had it not been for the price collapse. Now, Riyadh needs oil prices to rise as high as possible for the plan to succeed — and is even ready to tip the market into a deficit to that end.  Continue reading “Saudis ready to swing oil market into deficit”
