After shaving more than $20 off its share price earlier this week, Facebook stock moved back into the green Wednesday as CEO Mark Zuckerberg said he would publicly address the company’s relationship with Cambridge Analytica some time during the next 24 hours.

At the same time, another lawsuit has been brought against the company, the second since the New York Times and the Observer reported over the weekend that the company had failed to stop CA from using data improperly gathered from tens of millions of users, a Maryland woman sued Facebook Tuesday in a San Jose, Calif. court. Her suit was filed on behalf of other Facebook users whose data were accessed by CA without their explicit permission, Bloomberg reported.   Continue reading “Lawsuits Pile Up As #DeleteFacebook Movement Spreads”

A federal cabinet minister says a directive to Service Canada agents telling them to use gender-neutral language — such as ‘parent’ instead of ‘mother’ or ‘father’ — when speaking to the public was badly worded and will be corrected.

The directive, obtained by Radio Canada, the French-language arm of CBC, instructs Service Canada employees who interact with the public to stay away from terms such as Mr., Mrs., father and mother, and to “use gender-neutral language or gender-inclusive language.”   Continue reading “Service Canada’s gender neutral directive is ‘confusing’ and ‘will be corrected’ says minister”

Out of the goodness of his heart, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner vetoed an anti-gun bill that would require gun stores to purchase state licensing.  The bill is intended purely to drive up the cost of doing gun business in Illinios.  It’s an indirect tactic to decrease the ability of individuals to acquire and own the basic tools of self defense, guns.

The article featured in wandtv.com, an AP release, reveals the anti-gun nature of whoever wrote the article.  It offers very little perspective in terms of the people who might support Rauner’s move, but gives a whole section to the anti-gun, Cattle Car Guide association known as Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America (or, Police State Enablers Club for Moms of America, for short).   Continue reading “Illinois Governor Vetoes Anti-Gun Dealer Licensing Legislation”

A world in which there aren’t any well-stocked pharmacies?   Continue reading “Selco: The Shocking Reality of SHTF Medicine and How to Prep for When the Medical System is GONE”

Israeli authorities would need to relocate some 450 USSR immigrants, many of whom are in their 80s, from a plot of land to facilitate the construction of a new US embassy. And there is no solution in sight.

The plot in Jerusalem’s predominantly Jewish Arnona neighborhood is owned by the United States and currently accommodates an American consulate, which will soon be promoted to embassy status. This is scheduled to happen on May 14, coinciding with the 70th anniversary of Israel’s declaration of independence, although red tape may force a postponement, according to local media.  Continue reading “Israel needs to kick out 450 elderly people to make room for new US embassy”
