Boston – National Guard units seeking to confiscate a cache of recently banned assault weapons were ambushed by elements of a Para-military extremist faction. Military and law enforcement sources estimate that 72 were killed and more than 200 injured before government forces were compelled to withdraw.

A pedestrian bridge under construction collapsed Thursday less than a week after crews dropped the elevated span in place over the Tamiami Trail in an effort to provide students a safe route across the busy roadway.

The bridge, which was not open, collapsed atop an unknown number of people and cars underneath. Police quickly closed the road. It is not known how many people may have been injured in the collapse, which was clearly a major failure of a on-going project not expected to be completed until early 2019.

South Florida’s WSVN reported that television news helicopters were ordered to back off so rescuers could listen for sounds from survivors.

New Mexico is a battleground in the fight over once public waterways, sparking fears it could set a national precedent

As Scott Carpenter and a few friends paddled down the Pecos river in New Mexico last May, taking advantage of spring run-off, the lead boater yelled out and made a swirling hand motion over his head in the universal signal to pull over to shore. The paddlers eddied out in time to avoid running straight through three strings of barbed wire obstructing the river.   Continue reading “Who owns water? Health Impact News reported late last year (December 2017) that vaccine manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur admitted that their vaccine for dengue (a deadly tropical disease spread mostly by mosquitoes) was defective.

In a press release from France, the pharmaceutical company admitted that the vaccine is harmful to those not previously infected with dengue, and could cause children not previously infected with dengue to contract a severe case of the disease.  Continue reading “Faulty Dengue Vaccine Resulting in Deaths and Increased Diseases in Philippines Seeks FDA Approval for U.S. Market”

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway told Hillary Clinton to “stop pretending you’re a feminist” over her remarks about female Republican voters feeling pressure to vote the same way as their husbands.

Conway lashed out on Thursday during an appearance on the Fox and Friends program. “Let me tell you something, lady,” she said, addressing Clinton. “The idea that I, or other women like me have to ask our husbands how to vote, it’s really a joke. Particularly since — I won’t say her name, but I’ll appeal to you directly — particularly since this country knows who you are, first and foremost, because of who you married.”  Continue reading “‘Stop pretending you’re a feminist’ – White House’s Conway berates Clinton”

BEIRUT (AP) — Thousands of civilians streamed out of two besieged enclaves on opposite sides of Syria on Thursday, crossing on foot and in pick-up trucks and tractors to safety after suffering weeks of shelling and bombardment at Turkish and Syrian government forces.

At least 10,000 men, women and children emerged from Hamouria and nearby opposition towns near the Syrian capital, carrying their belongings in suitcases and bags, as government forces pushed rebels out of the town with a punishing aerial and ground campaign, according to state-run Syrian television and a war monitoring group.  Continue reading “Hundreds flee Syrian town in besieged opposition enclave”

If you’re ever in New Orleans looking for a bite to eat, you’ll want to avoid a controversial pop-up restaurant known as SAARTJ whose racist black owner has decided that he’s going to make a political statement about “white privilege” by charging all white customers more money than black customers for the exact same food.

Run by local Nigerian chef Tunde Wey, SAARTJ recently announced plans to implement an $18 surcharge on every meal that it sells to white customers, while all of the restaurant’s black customers will get a discounted rate for their meals. It’s all part of Wey’s personal crusade to stick it to the white man in retaliation for what he sees as racial wealth inequality throughout American society.   Continue reading “New Orleans restaurant announces “white privilege tax” to charge white customers more money for the same food”

Yesterday, March 13, 2018, President Trump was in California to examine the eight prototypes for a border wall with Mexico.

Fox5 San Diego reports that anti-Trumpers scheduled two rallies a day before Trump’s visit against what organizers call the “wasteful, harmful and irresponsible” plan to build the wall. The first rally was held at 11 a.m. at Chicano Park by a slate of community and activist groups, including Alliance San Diego, the San Diego Immigrant Rights Consortium, American Friends Service Committee, and the local UNITE HERE union. Congressman Juan Vargas (D) spoke at the rally, “Trump is not welcome here.”   Continue reading “Mexican nationalist flags at anti-Trump protest in San Diego”

Washington, D.C. — On Wednesday, the Subcommittee on Capital Markets, Securities, and Investment (Committee on Financial Services) held a hearing they called “Examining the Cryptocurrencies and ICO Markets.” During this ostensible “examination,” banker-owned politicians used their time to fabricate and perpetuate outright lies and fear about cryptocurrencies. At one point in the discussion, however, one banker shill accidentally admitted the real reason government doesn’t like cryptocurrencies and the blockchain—it threatens their control over you.   Continue reading “Congressman Accidentally Admits Cryptocurrencies Threaten Govt’s “Control” Over You”

Today, some students, teachers, and other Americans who share their views are walking out of classes across the country to call for limits on the right of free assembly. Wait, strike that. They’re walking out of classes to call for further restrictions on protections against unreasonable search and seizure. Nope, that’s not it either. Wait, I have it: they’re protesting for greater regulation of self-defense rights. Yup, there we go.

Of course, they’re exercising their free speech rights in the process, and that’s as it should be (although at least some of the kids have been conscripted into exercising somebody else’s free speech rights by school officials who expect that their charges will adhere to officially endorsed positions). After all, the exercise of individual rights shouldn’t be subject to popular opinion or debate.   Continue reading “Your Right to Free Speech, Like My Right to Self-Defense, Isn’t Open to Debate”
