The Fix – by  Keri Blakinger

Pennsylvania prisons have begun letting up on the systemwide lockdown sparked late last month by a series of alleged drug exposure incidents officials blamed on synthetic marijuana soaked into books and letters.

More than three dozen guards at 10 of the state’s 25 prisons were sickened over the course of a month, corrections officials told Penn Live. None of the staffers needed extended hospital stays, but in response, on Wednesday the prison system cut off all visitation and non-legal mail and locked inmates in their cells indefinitely.    Continue reading “Prisons Shutdown Over Possible K2 Exposure”

Ten people were taken to the hospital Wednesday after an Emirates Airline plane from Dubai — carrying more than 500 passengers and apparently rapper Vanilla Ice — landed in New York City with about 100 passengers and crew members feeling ill, officials said.

Nine others who were sickened were evaluated and refused further medical attention, Eric Phillips, spokesman for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, said.

Influenza is believed to be the culprit, as patients have demonstrated flu-like symptoms, a New York City health official said.   Continue reading “CDC investigates an Emirates plane carrying 100 sick passengers”

California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill into law that allows illegal immigrant students to hold elected positions on California college boards as long as they qualify for in-state tuition.

The bill, AB1887, was signed on Aug 24 and permits students, who are illegally residing in the United States, to “serve on any board or commission […] that relate to public elementary and secondary education and that includes members who are pupils or minors,” provided they are eligible for in-state tuition or are otherwise exempt from paying non-resident tuition.   Continue reading “Illegal immigrant students now allowed positions on California college boards”

The question often arises in liberty movement circles as to how we get to the point of full blown tyranny within a society.  There are numerous factors that determine this outcome, but through all the various totalitarian systems in history there are common denominators – elements that must be there for tyrants to prevail.  When we can identify these common elements in an objective manner, we make it far more difficult for despotic structures to stand.

This is a very complex issue, but I’ll break it down as best as I’m able…  Continue reading “How People Become Easily Controlled By Tyrants”

The Prepper Journal – by Wild Bill

A few weeks ago I posted an article on items in our mail and among the items was the Hardcore Alpha Shield. Being a firm believer in body armor as an essential piece of home security equipment and in shields in particular as a quickly don’ed item that can be close to where you keep your primary home defense weapon, I wanted to expand on their value as a personal protection device, as something preppers should consider in their inventory of must-have items, even if it does not fit in your BOB.   Continue reading “Body Shields for Home Defense”

Tulsa, OK — Tulsa police just released an extremely disturbing video showing their officers repeatedly taser an unarmed, shirtless, shoeless man until he fell unconscious and died.

Joshua Harvey, 25, would lose his life after an interaction with Tulsa police and prior to coming across the officers, his only “crime” was acting crazy.   Continue reading “Cops Repeatedly Taser Man Until He Falls Unconscious and Dies—for “Acting Crazy””
