To counteract global warming, humans may someday consider spraying sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere to form clouds — and artificially cool the Earth.

The idea behind the process, known as geoengineering, is to keep global warming under control — with the ideal solution still being a reduction in the emissions of greenhouse gases.    Continue reading “Creating clouds to stop global warming could wreak havoc”

It’s anyone’s guess where “Mad” Mike Hughes gets his nickname, but you may have heard it before. In November of 2017, Hughes announced a plan to ride his home-made rocket into the sky with the ultimate goal of proving that the Earth is flat. His first launch never got off the ground due to government regulations, but on Friday, he announced that he’s going to try again, sometime around February 3.

Hughes does not believe that the Earth is the shape of a sphere, according to a video released on Friday on his Facebook page. He has said that he doesn’t believe in science and that public schools are “programming centers.” He claims that he doesn’t like the word “flat earther,” but his rocket is painted with the words “flat earth.”  Continue reading “Man Who Hopes to Prove the Earth Is Flat in His Homemade Rocket Has a New Launch Date”

Johnson County, KS — A family grieving and a town left in shock after police responded to a welfare check of a beloved high school student Saturday afternoon—and killed him. Blue Valley Northwest High School junior John Albers was unarmed and backing out of his garage when an Overland Park Police Officer opened fire on him, killing him on the spot.

The incident happened on Saturday but the dispatch recordings were released Monday night which paint a picture of what happened. The most crucial part of the picture, however, is missing, and that is why the officer felt the need to kill the 17-year-old wrestling and track star.

Scientists warn that thanks to a controversial viral synthesis, smallpox could once again wreak its havoc on the globe. It’s been described as the deadliest disease in human history claiming 500 million lives in the 20th century before being eradicated.

Scientists are now concerned that controversial experiments in which researchers recreated a related horsepox virus from scratch could make its deadly cousin equally replicable.  Researchers at the University of Alberta caused quite a stir last year when news broke that they had pieced together the extinct horsepox virus (which does not pose a direct threat to humans) by assembling fragments of DNA purchased over the internet for around $100,000.  Continue reading “Scientists Warn: World Is Susceptible To Smallpox After Controversial Viral Synthesis”

More than 500 DACA recipients stripped of protections for engaging in criminal acts–including gang activity–are running free in the United States, say experts.

The Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), a “low-immigration, pro-immigration” nonpartisan think tank based in Washington, DC, reports that these individuals are still at large and have not been deported. In fact, only about 30 percent of the 500 criminal illegal aliens have been removed or were in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as of November.   Continue reading “500 ‘DREAMers’ Remain Free After DACA Protections were Stripped for Crimes, Say Experts”

A Tesla Model S has rear-ended a fire truck parked on a freeway in the US. The driver, however, says it wasn’t his fault, blaming the state-of-the-art technology instead.

On Monday morning, the Tesla car, going 65mph, hit a parked fire truck, the Culver City Fire Department tweeted. The firefighters were there attending to a “freeway accident,” when their truck was hit by the electric-powered vehicle, which was travelling on autopilot, according to the driver. The truck apparently sustained only minor damage, while the hood of the Tesla seems almost completely smashed.   Continue reading “Whose fault? Tesla crashes into fire truck, driver blames autopilot”
