US President Donald Trump has announced his administration will stop ratification of the UN Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) and withdraw from it, calling it “badly misguided” and a threat to American freedoms.

TAPACHULA, Mexico — Hours after a mass escape from an immigration detention center in southern Mexico, throngs of detained migrants raised their fists in the air Friday and chanted “We want food! We want out!”

A once-prominent New York City surgeon who told police officers ‘I’m the hero’ during a parking ticket dispute in 2016 won a $1.2 million lawsuit on Friday, after successfully arguing the cops used excessive force.
Rachel Wellner, 43, initially filed a $30 million suit against the city, claiming her civil rights were violated when an officer allegedly pushed her and grabbed her arm during a traffic stop in Midtown, three years ago. A massive caravan of approximately 10,000 migrants traveling through Mexico in hopes of reaching the United States is expected to arrive in Mexico City this week, according to local media reports on the group’s movements.

TAPACHULA (Reuters) – More than a thousand migrants broke out of a detention center in southern Mexico on Thursday evening, authorities said, in a fresh sign of how a surge in arrivals has stretched the country’s resources to the limit.
More than half of the roughly 1,300 migrants later returned to the Siglo XXI facility in the border city of Tapachula in Chiapas state, but about 600 are still unaccounted for, the National Migration Institute said in a statement. Twenty filmmakers, screenwriters, actors, and film critics have urged film theaters in the United Kingdom to boycott the Israeli film festival Seret, co-organized by the Tel Aviv government, in protest at the Zionist regime’s atrocities against Palestinians.
“We’re shocked and dismayed to see how many mainstream cinemas … are hosting this year’s Israeli film festival, Seret, whose funders and supporters include the Israeli government and a clutch of pro-Israel advocacy organizations,” the cinema professionals said in a letter published by The Guardian on Thursday. British authorities are planning a massive wall at the site of a World War ll memorial to protect US President Donald Trump during his state visit to the location in June as public outrage about the controversial trip continues to grow.
The leader of the local council in the southern English city of Portsmouth revealed on Thursday that authorities will encircle the location of events to mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings in the city with two steel layers of security fencing to prevent the public from reaching the site where Trump will be present along the British queen to attend the memorial.
