NEW YORK (AP) — Benjamin de Rothschild, who oversaw the banking empire started by his father in 1953, has died. He was 57.

The Edmond de Rothschild Group, the company he was chairman of, said that de Rothschild died of a heart attack Friday afternoon at his home in Pregny, Switzerland.

North Dakota’s statewide mask mandate will be allowed to expire as planned after the weekend, and coronavirus-related restrictions on businesses will be further eased, Gov. Doug Burgum announced Friday.

He cited a dramatic drop in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and test positivity rate over the past two months. He also noted the availability of vaccines, rapid tests and new therapeutic treatments, and said “we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Police in Washington, D.C., on Friday arrested a Virginia man who allegedly tried to pass through a security checkpoint with an “unauthorized” inauguration credential, unregistered handguns and more than 500 rounds of ammunition, according to officials.
