NEW YORK (AP) — Benjamin de Rothschild, who oversaw the banking empire started by his father in 1953, has died. He was 57.
The Edmond de Rothschild Group, the company he was chairman of, said that de Rothschild died of a heart attack Friday afternoon at his home in Pregny, Switzerland.

The great crisis that is now happening in the United States did not begin with the break-in to Capitol Hill. It began with the Democrats’ lack of confidence in the presidency of Trump expressed in stormy demonstrations across the US, and his being labeled in every possible derogatory way.
The crisis continues in the great distrust of many of the Republicans in what they see as false election results that led to the break-in to the core of the government while the electoral votes for Biden were being confirmed. The violence America witnessed at the Capitol was more than unleashed rage. Terrorism experts say it was the culmination of years of radicalization.

North Dakota’s statewide mask mandate will be allowed to expire as planned after the weekend, and coronavirus-related restrictions on businesses will be further eased, Gov. Doug Burgum announced Friday.
He cited a dramatic drop in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and test positivity rate over the past two months. He also noted the availability of vaccines, rapid tests and new therapeutic treatments, and said “we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

Police in Washington, D.C., on Friday arrested a Virginia man who allegedly tried to pass through a security checkpoint with an “unauthorized” inauguration credential, unregistered handguns and more than 500 rounds of ammunition, according to officials.
Wesley Allen Beeler, 31, of Front Royal, Virginia, was arrested shortly after 6:30 p.m. Friday after police found two unregistered Glock 9mm handguns, 509 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 21 12-gauge shotgun shells, and one 17-round Glock 17 magazine, all in his truck, according to a police report. Amid increasing calls for suspension of the use of mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines produced by companies such as Pfizer, especially among elderly people, the situation in Norway has escalated significantly as the Scandi nation has now registered a total of 29 deaths among people over the age of 75 who’ve had their first COVID-19 vaccination shot.

Nestlé Prepared Foods is recalling about 762,615 pounds of pepperoni pizza Hot Pockets, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced late Friday.
The frozen stuffed sandwiches, which were shipped to stores nationwide and produced in November, are being recalled because they “may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically pieces of glass and hard plastic,” according to a news release. The House in Washington State is proposing a law to make elections less transparent so they can steal them into perpetuity. They want to pass a bill exempting election security information from public records.
The Democrats in the state of Washington are afraid of being caught stealing future elections like they did the last one. So they want to make information that comes out of an audit of security reviews and other similar information away from its citizens review. A wealthy, 89-year-old artificial sweetener magnate who made Sweet’N Low a household name has committed suicide by jumping from his Park Avenue apartment building, law enforcement sources told The Post.
Donald Tober, CEO and co-owner of the New York-based 1,400-employee Sugar Foods, leapt to his death just after 5 a.m. Friday, and was found in the courtyard of the luxury Upper East Side building between 65th and 66th streets, the sources said.
