The American Medical Association (AMA) on Tuesday urged the public and private sectors to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations, saying the move is key to getting control of the pandemic.
The call comes one day after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) fully approved the Pfizer vaccine, a step that is expected to lead more companies to pull the trigger on mandating vaccination for their employees. Oregon Gov. Kate Brown (D) on Tuesday announced a new statewide outdoor mask mandate requiring people to wear masks in most outdoor settings regardless of vaccination status.
State of play: Starting Friday, Oregonians will be required to wear masks outdoors when physical distancing is not possible. While the mandate does not apply to outdoor gatherings in private residences, masks are “strongly recommended” when people from different households cannot remain socially distanced. Boldly displayed on the International Barcode of Life (“IBOL”) website is the catchy phrase “illuminate biodiversity to save our living planet.” Its stated vision is “to illuminate biodiversity changing the way humanity understands our planet.” It explains further, “illuminate biodiversity by developing globally accessible, DNA-based systems for the discovery and identification of all multicellular life.” It’s not clear what the words actually mean and they seem harmless enough, a little theatrical perhaps but harmless. PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Supreme Court is weighing whether to unseal a search warrant and affidavits in an investigation into billionaire banker-turned-philanthropist T. Denny Sanford for possible possession of child pornography.
Attorneys for the national media outlet ProPublica, and Sioux Falls Argus Leader argued that the records should be made publicly available, understanding that certain redactions would be necessary. However, attorney Marty Jackley argued that the records should not be released, given that Sanford was incorrectly listed as a defendant.
This is a transcript of two out of three tapes on the “New World System.” Tapes one and two were recorded in 1988 and are the recollections of Dr. Lawrence Dunegan regarding a lecture he attended on March 20, 1969 at a meeting of the Pittsburgh Paediatric Society. The lecturer at that gathering of paediatricians (identified in tape three recorded in 1991) was a Dr. Richard Day (who died in 1989). At the time, Dr. Day was Professor of Paediatrics at Mount Sinai Medical School in New York. Previously he had served as Medical Director of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. There’s a Catch-22. There’s also the Taylor Swift song “22.” But what the heck is “Covid-22,” and why the heck is it trending on Twitter?
As you may know, Covid-19 is short for coronavirus disease 2019, a disease caused by the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). It’s got the “19” at the end of it not because there have been 18 other Covids as Ted Nugent may have thought, which I covered previously for Forbes. It’s also not because the virus is now 19 years old and old enough to legally drink in Canada and gamble in Alabama and Nebraska.
