TOKYO – Japan’s health ministry said Thursday foreign materials were found in some portions of unused doses of Moderna Inc’s COVID-19 vaccine and the use of around 1.63 million doses manufactured in the same production line has been suspended as a precaution.

Japanese drugmaker Takeda Pharmaceutical Co, which is in charge of sales and distribution of the vaccine in the country, said it has yet to see any reports of safety issues. Craig Hill, the president of Iowa Farm Bureau said, as it stands, the proposal could become law with serious impact on farm families. “New York City will become the first major U.S. city to require proof of COVID-19 vaccination at restaurants, gyms and other businesses, Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Tuesday.  New York City’s policy requires proof of at least one dose and will be enforced starting Sept. 13. Like mask mandates and last year’s stay-at-home orders, the plan will likely meet stiff resistance. In France, government imposition of a nationwide health passport proving vaccination has touched off large protests, often dispersed by police using tear gas.”

Yet another FBI agent has been arrested for spousal abuse.

According to local media reports, gay Assistant Special Agent In Charge Amberly Boyle, who oversees the New Orleans field office, was arrested after the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call about an altercation between her and her wife.

According to three officials who spoke to Bloomberg News, Biden will use the little-known “humanitarian parole” tool to bring roughly 50,000 Afghans to the U.S. The plan is a last-minute effort to bring as many Afghans to the U.S. as possible, as this group does not have Special Immigrant Visas (SIVs), P-2 visas, or refugee status.
