The California State Board of Education has rejected a proposed ethnic studies curriculum for the state’s schools, saying it “falls short and needs to be substantially redesigned.”

The Jewish community is among several minority groups that have protested the draft. Police in San Antonio arrested a man early Tuesday morning in connection with gunshots fired through the windows of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in the city, according to the agency.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Kansas City, Kansas police shot and killed a man they say was heavily armed Tuesday morning and shot at them. Police say the gunman also told a hotel manager he killed his wife and was headed to Legends Outlets with a military-style rifle.

NEW YORK (Reuters) – A New York woman who said she was sexually assaulted by Jeffrey Epstein at the age of 14 sued the disgraced financier’s estate and a former associate on Wednesday, in the start of an expected wave of lawsuits.
