On Tuesday, a sixth Paterson police officer was arrested at city police headquarters, the latest Paterson cop swept up in a more than two-year federal probe.

MEXICO CITY (Sputnik) – Another caravan of mostly Central American migrants hoping to start a better life in the United States has embarked on a march to the US border across Mexico, media reported.

Oregon – -(AmmoLand.com)- Thousands of Second Amendment activists gathered over the weekend at the Oregon State Capitol in Salem, according to KGW, essentially telling Beaver State anti-gunners that enough is enough.

New Jersey reportedly granted $1.6 million in financial aid to illegal alien students as part of a new program that allows illegal alien college students to apply for financial aid.
A total of 513 “DREAMers” received $1.6 million in state financial aid during the fall 2018 semester, according to NJ.com. Forty colleges in New Jersey are accepting at least one illegal alien student using financial aid, including The College of New Jersey, Rowan University and Seton Hall University. Rutgers University is accepting the highest number, 150 illegal alien students, awarding a total of $623,109 to the students, or around $4,150 per student. Rockland County declared a countywide State of Emergency relating to the ongoing measles outbreak — the longest outbreak since the disease was eradicated in the United States in 2000, according to officials.
Effective at the stroke of midnight, Wednesday, anyone who is under 18 years of age and unvaccinated against the measles will be barred from public places until this declaration expires in 30 days or until they receive the MMR vaccination. NEWTOWN – The father of one of the children killed in the Sandy Hook school shooting was found dead of an apparent suicide inside a historical town building, officials say.

In a dramatic escalation of the Trump administration’s legal battle against President Obama’s health care law, Justice Department lawyers now say the entire Affordable Care Act should be struck down.
Having previously argued, under AG Jeff Sessions, that only the law’s pre-existing condition protections should be struck down, DoJ lawyers told a federal appeals court Monday it thinks the whole of ObamaCare is unconstitutional, siding with a Texas district court ruling that found Obamacare unconstitutional. WASHINGTON (Reuters) – U.S. Chief Justice John Roberts on Tuesday rejected a bid by gun rights activists to put on hold a ban by President Donald Trump’s administration on “bump stock” gun attachments that enable semi-automatic weapons to be fired rapidly.
Justice Sonia Sotomayor has not yet acted on another similar request. The ban goes into effect on Tuesday but lower courts have yet to rule on an appeals brought by gun rights activists in Michigan and the U.S. capital. DHS data shows growing surge of migrants at border…
The number of immigrants arrested or turned away at the southern border has continued to climb to levels not seen for years, according to new Department of Homeland Security data obtained by Axios.
Why it matters: The surge has been driven by an influx of migrant families and unaccompanied children, according to a DHS official. “At the moment, we have the closest thing to an open border that we’ve had,” said Leon Fresco, an immigration attorney and member of a Homeland Security advisory committee formed by DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen several months ago.
The European Parliament has voted to adopt the highly controversial Article 13 provision which would govern the production and distribution of content online under the auspices of increasing copyright protections.
Tuesday’s move will update the EU’s 20-year-old copyright rules and will govern audiovisual content, much to the dismay of many social media users who have already begun outpouring their grief online. In a shocking announcement Tuesday morning, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office said it will not be prosecuting Jussie Smollett, who was previously accused of faking an anti-black, anti-gay hate crime in Chicago in order to drum up publicity for his role on the TV drama “Empire.”
