According to Agriculture Secretary Sunny Purdue, there “may be as many as a million calves lost in Nebraska” due to the catastrophic flooding that has hit the state.  This is not a rumor, this is not an exaggeration, and this is not based on any sort of speculation.  This number comes to us directly from the top agriculture official in the entire country, and it means that the economic toll from the recent floods is far greater than most of us had anticipated.  You can watch Purdue make this quote on Fox Business right here, and it is important to remember that this number is just for one state.  It is hard to imagine what the final numbers will look like when the livestock losses for all of the states affected by the flooding are tallied up.  This is already the worst agricultural disaster in modern American history, and the National Weather Service is telling us that there will be more catastrophic flooding throughout the middle portion of the nation for the next two months.  Continue reading ““As Many As A Million Calves Lost In Nebraska” – Beef Prices In The U.S. To Escalate Dramatically In The Coming Months”

A few months have passed since President Trump last threatened to close the southern border, but with another caravan of 2,500 Central American and Cuban migrants making its way through southern Mexico – where the group has reportedly received a cooler welcome than previous groups – the president has apparently decided that it’s time to revive those threats.

A sword-wielding suspect was fatally shot by police and two officers were struck by gunfire during an incident at a Church of Scientology in Inglewood Wednesday afternoon, police said.

My mom passed away today at 2:00pm. My brother Steve and I were there at her bedside along with one of the home health aides Karen. Tomorrow after my doctor appointment, I will be going to the funeral home to make arrangements. A beautiful woman, a beautiful life. (Bloomberg) — The bad news is that almost half of Americans approaching retirement have nothing saved in a 401(k) or other individual account. The good news is that the new estimate, from the U.S. Government Accountability Office, is slightly better than a few years earlier.

Of those 55 and older, 48 percent had nothing put away in a 401(k)-style defined contribution plan or an individual retirement account, according to a GAO estimate for 2016 that was released Tuesday. While the right to keep and bear arms is confirmed in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, in essence each state will determine the extent to which the right applies within its borders. (Don’t blame me – it just is what it is.) For what it’s worth, state laws also are applicable to the legality of carrying a gun in your truck across state lines, which makes the practice as complicated as it sounds.
