PHOENIX (AP) — Immigrants are vowing to fight to stay in the U.S. and advocates are launching campaigns including fundraisers and registration drives after the Trump administration announced it would dismantle a program that protected hundreds of thousands of young people from deportation.

Immigrants who were brought to the country illegally as children or whose families overstayed visas said they are veterans of setbacks in the political arena. President Donald Trump last week lifted Obama-era restrictions on the transfer of surplus military hardware to police departments; however, a review of Defense Department data shows the flow of materiel actually increased in Washington state despite the prohibition on some items.

Since the inception of the Department of Defense’s so-called “1033 Program” as part of Ronald Reagan’s war on drugs in 1991, more than $30.2 million in surplus military gear has been given to state law-enforcement agencies.

ARLINGTON, TEXAS – ARLINGTON, Texas — Police in Arlington have arrested one man and are looking for another after the bodies of a man and woman were found in a shallow grave near AT&T Stadium.

Detectives say the male victim’s severed head was found just after 2:30 p.m. Saturday in a wooded area near a creek along Truman Street, near Sanford Street.

A note reading “La Raza Se Restreta y Faltan 4” was found nearby, according to an arrest warrant. The Arizona Air National Guard has confirmed an F-16 based out of the 162nd Wing crashed in southeast Arizona. However, officials said they could not confirm the status of the pilot.

An F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed approximately 20 miles northwest of Safford at 3:00pm on Tuesday, according to a Guard news release.
