Two days into the start of my daughter’s 7th grade school year, she brought home a document that triggered a bit of an apoplectic, expletive-laden meltdown for me, and it was all centered around one word, Patriotism. The document was a form the school wanted me to sign acknowledging my receipt of something called the “Framework for Citizenship- The Student Code of Conduct.”

Who was holding the back of your bike when you learned to ride? Chances are, it was a parent. Now a special cycling program is giving some children the opportunity to return that favor to their elderly parents decades later.

They say you never forget to ride a bike. That memory is the key to a new program that’s helping senior citizens with dementia and memory loss.

“Lois grew up not too far from here. They went swimming and biking and were outside all the time. MILWAUKEE (AP) — Former Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke is joining a political action committee that supports President Donald Trump, saying in an email Tuesday he will serve as spokesman and senior adviser to the group.

The firebrand sheriff has made a name for himself as one of the president’s most outspoken and faithful backers, frequently voicing support for Trump’s every move to his nearly 800,000 Twitter followers. Tuesday Morning September 5:

We got a satellite pass about 11:45 pm Monday night. The data show that the Mt.Emily conflagration was stopped yesterday afternoon, but the Bosley Butte containment break grew north and west towards Carpenterville. I couldn’t get it on the map, but it’s 11 miles to Agness.

The incident meteorologist is predicting SW winds this morning 9-12 mph and increasing moisture and cloud cover in the afternoon. Much cooler temperatures in the 70’s to low 80’s. U.S. Virgin Islands Gov. Kenneth Mapp signed an emergency order allowing the seizure of private guns, ammunition, explosives and property the National Guard may need to respond to Hurricane Irma.

Mapp signed the order Monday in preparation for Hurricane Irma. The Salt Lake City hospital where a police officer roughly arrested a nurse who was protecting her patient’s rights in July will no longer allow law enforcement agents inside its patient care areas. They’ll now have to check in, rather than enter through the emergency room.
