WEB Notes: History is always changed by those with the pen. This is not a symbol of hate, though that is all most people think anymore when they see that flag. Those in control of the media have effectively changed history so we see that flag in a negative light and remove it from our minds like they do with so many things.

Workers in New Orleans removed the first of four prominent Confederate monuments Monday morning, becoming the latest Southern institution to sever itself from symbols viewed by many as a representation of racism and white supremacy.   Continue reading “New Orleans Takes Down 1st Of 4 Confederate Statues”

Nowhere has Donald Trump matched up with the original story of the Trojan horse more than in his overtures of peace, instead of military conflict. Nowhere has Trump changed more than in these same issues. Candidate Trump frequently persuaded his supporters to believe he would build more peaceful and cooperative relations with Russia and ridiculed the regime-change efforts of Hillary’s warmongering ways. After he was wheeled inside the Washington city gates, however, he opened up with overnight military attacks around the world and, in the same week, declared in the solitary point of harmony he could find with Putin that Russian relations had become worse during his first hundred days than they have ever been.   Continue reading “You Got Trumped! The Donald’s personal military revolution is just Trump change”

Mother Earth News – by Ruth Stout

My no-work gardening method is simply to keep a thick mulch of any vegetable matter that rots on both my vegetable and flower garden all year round. As it decays and enriches the soil, I add more. The labor-saving part of my system is that I never plow, spade, sow a cover crop, harrow, hoe, cultivate, weed, water or spray. I use just one fertilizer (cottonseed or soybean meal), and I don’t go through that tortuous business of building a compost pile.   Continue reading “Ruth Stout’s System for Gardening”

I am deeply honored to speak with you tonight, as the World Jewish Congress gathers in New York City with the leaders from across the world.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said Sunday that Penn Station needs major improvements in coordination, training and staffing following a panic and stampede a week ago Friday.

In the incident a week ago Friday, a disabled NJ TRANSIT train first led to widespread delays and left the train depot packed and crammed.

Then, as frustrated passengers crowded the platforms, Amtrak police used a Taser on a suspect, which some people mistook for the sound of gunshots.   Continue reading “Schumer Demands Better Police Coordination At Penn Station After Stampede”

WEB Notes: So now the government wants to come after what little bit you have left. Yes, the Republican and Democrat vermin that you voted for. “Make American Great Again” went out with a whimper, as the sound of a ballon slowly releasing the air.

Government officials receive fantastic benefits, but apparently you are keeping too much of the money you earned and they want a bigger cut. Tax cuts? Give me a break. Remember, 40% of you have saved nothing for retirement and they want even more.

LONDON — Are you handy enough that if a lightbulb went out in your home you’d be able to change it? Believe it or not, one in five people aren’t so skilled. In fact, a new survey of people in the United Kingdom finds not only do about 20 percent of people not know how to change a bulb — the same number aren’t sure how to boil an egg, either.

The British insurance company Aviva recently released their annual Home Reportwhich detailed, among numerous findings about how people do work around the house, relatively common tasks that people encounter. The company surveyed 2004 people across the UK in February and March about their habits and roles at home.   Continue reading “Survey: 1 In 5 Adults In The UK Can’t Change A Lightbulb, Boil An Egg”
