A 31-year-old man was arrested on Monday in the fatal ambush shooting of a San Antonio police officer, one of four officers shot in the line of duty in Texas, Missouri and Florida a day earlier.
The attacks on Sunday, which injured three other officers and led to the shooting death of a suspect, revived memories of deadly ambushes targeting police in July in Dallas and Baton Rouge. Continue reading “Amid police shootings, suspect arrested in Texas officer’s death”
Donald Trump’s election looms over a U.S. citizenship ceremony in San Antonio, as the judge presiding over the ceremony says if you don’t like that Trump will be president, go to another country.
“I can assure you that whether you voted for him or you did not vote for him, if you are a citizen of the United States, he is your president,” Judge John Primomo said. “He will be your president and if you do not like that, you need to go to another country.” Continue reading “Federal judge: ‘If you don’t like [Trump], you should go to another country’”
President-elect Donald Trump has given Americans their first taste of what he has planned for his first days in the White House.
In a brief YouTube video released Monday at dinnertime, Trump outlined six policy promises – all items he campaigned on – that he could accomplish with the stroke of a pen. Missing, however, was any mention of rolling back President Barack Obama’s orders that protect millions of illegal immigrants from deportation. Continue reading “Trump video promises Day One ‘executive actions’ on trade, energy, regulations, cyber attacks, visa abuse and lobbying bans – but nothing about immigration ‘amnesty’”
I wrote this two years ago. I had to change the video link several times to the Michael Collins Piper lecture on the JFK assassination. If you never did get to see the video, please scroll down to watch it. President Kennedy was killed on the anniversary of the first day of the meeting to create the Federal Reserve.
The United States has had three coups if you count the first one as being Jekyll Island in November of 1910. Those first coup plotters met at Jekyll Island and secretly wrote the law that became the Federal Reserve Act of 1913. An earthquake hit northern Japan on Tuesday, the Japan Meteorological Agency said, issuing tsunami advisories for much of the nation’s northern Pacific coast.
The epicenter of the earthquake, which was felt in Tokyo, was off the coast of Fukushima prefecture at a depth of about 10 km, the agency said.
The U.S. Geological Survey had a preliminary magnitude of 7.3, but then downgraded it to 6.9. Continue reading “Magnitude 6.9 earthquake strikes off Japanese coast, USGS says”

In his first round of Sunday show interviews since the election, Vice President-elect Mike Pence did not rule out the possibility that President-elect Donald Trump could reinstate waterboarding as an interrogation technique during his administration.
On CBS Sunday, “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson brought up Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and his comments Saturday at the Halifax International Security Forum. At a panel discussion there, McCain vehemently insisted that any attempt to bring back waterboarding, which simulates drowning, would be quickly challenged in court, the Associated Press reported. Those of us who are not in favor of getting nuked were very pleased to hear that the day after the election, the mainstream media’s proclaimed enemy President Vladimir Putin of Russia sent a congratulatory telegram to President-Elect Donald Trump.
The contents were shared in a release from the Kremlin: Continue reading “Not Everyone in Washington Is Happy That Trump and Putin Are Getting Along”

While establishment Democrats trumpet all sorts of excuses for Hillary’s loss, few are willing to admit that she represented the alliance of bureaucratic corruption and corporate greed people are sick of.
There is no solace in the prospect of Donald Trump using big government to carry out his “law and order” pledge – ramping up domestic surveillance, increasing the militarization of police, undoing modest efforts at reducing prison populations, and possibly even cracking down on legal cannabis. Is Trump just trying to make the left angry now?

In response to the story, Bolling said, “At this time I can’t confirm anything. I’m sure you understand.” Continue reading “Trump Considering Fox News Host Eric Bolling of “Boobs on the Ground” Hypocrisy for Commerce Gig”
Despite the fact that it continues to spread throughout Latin America, the Caribbean and regions of southeast Asia, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced on Friday that it no longer views the spread of the Zika virus as a public health emergency of international concern.
Rather, the public health division of the United Stations is reclassifying the ailment, particularly its effect on pregnant women and unborn children, as a chronic problem which will not be going away anytime in the near future, according to NPR and NBC News reports.
