“You’re trying to find the places where the money will have the most leverage, how you can save the most lives for the dollar, so to speak,” Pelley remarked. “Right. And transform the societies,” Gates replied.1
In 2009 the self-designated “Good Club” – a gathering of the world’s wealthiest people whose collective net worth then totaled some $125 billion – met behind closed doors in New York City to discuss a coordinated response to threats posed by the global financial crisis. Led by Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, and David Rockefeller, the group resolved to find new ways of addressing sources of discontent in the developing world, in particular “overpopulation” and infectious diseases.2 The billionaires in attendance committed to massive spending in areas of interest to themselves, heedless of the priorities of national governments and existing aid organizations.3 Continue reading “The Real Agenda of the Gates Foundation”
New Jersey is doubling down on a bad bet: It wants to take a man’s family home to try to boost a once-bankrupt casino.
A quaint brick walk-up near the Atlantic City boardwalk has been with Charlie Birnbaum and his parents for more than four decades. But the state Casino Reinvestment Development Authority (CRDA) is trying to seize this house using the power of eminent domain, the government’s ability to take private property for a “public use.” Condemnation should not be used lightly and only as a last resort. Neither is true for Charlie’s case (as seen in the video below). Continue reading “Elderly Atlantic City Icon Could Lose His Family Home Of 45 Years To Benefit A Bankrupt Casino”
The John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007 passed easily at the end of September 2006, authorizing the expenditure of $526 billion for fiscal year 2007. Only 23 U.S. representatives voted against the Act, and not a single senator objected during a unanimous voice vote.
One provision of the Act, Section 1076, has created outrage among grassroots activists, based on an article that swept through email and independent media rounds: “Bush Moves Towards Martial Law.” BORDC has compiled some resources to clarify what Section 1076 actually says, and how the Insurrection Act was changed. ABSTRACT
This paper advances a hypothesis of the end of the third industrial revolution and the beginning of a new transition. Every production phase or civilization or human invention goes through a so- called transformation process. Transitions are social transformation processes that cover at least one generation. In this paper I will use one such transition to demonstrate the position of our present civilization. When we consider the characteristics of the phases of a social transformation we may find ourselves at the end of what might be called the third industrial revolution. The paper describes the four most radical transitions for mankind and the effects for mankind of these transitions: the Neolithic transition, the first industrial revolution, the second industrial revolution and the third industrial revolution. Guards at a US nuclear missile base failed last summer drill, which was meant to test their ability to withstand a hostile takeover, reports AP citing an internal review. US Air Force called it a “critical deficiency.”
In the drill the security team of the 341st Missile Wing at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana was required to respond to a simulated capture of a Minuteman 3 nuclear missile silo. The guards had to recapture the seized nuclear weapon in the silo, but failed to do so, the report obtained under a Freedom of Information Act request indicated. Cops smashed a handcuffed fourteen-year-old through a storefront window in the Bronx Saturday night, nearly killing him.
The Juvenile Justice Information Exchange reports that Javier Payne suffered cuts to his face, his chest, and a punctured lung from being shoved into the window of the Hookah Shop. Paramedics had to hold Payne’s chest closed as he was rushed to the hospital — though they did not arrive on scene immediately because police called it in with a protocol used for drunks, not for a pediatric emergency. There is something seriously wrong with the way attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is diagnosed in young children in the US, with over 1 million kids being potentially misdiagnosed just because they are the youngest in their kindergarten year, with the youngest in class twice as likely to be on stimulant medication. More than 10,000 American toddlers 2 or 3 years old are being medicated for ADHD outside established pediatric guidelines, according to data presented on by an official at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Fox News anchor Gregg Jarrett has been released from jail following his arrest at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport for refusing to cooperate with police.

A new poll suggests that finding employment, particularly for the long-term unemployed, continues to be a struggle for Americans. The poll, conducted by Harris Poll on behalf of Express Employment Professionals, asked questions of 1,500 unemployed adult Americans last month.
“This survey shows that millions of Americans are at risk of falling into the trap of prolonged unemployment, and it should give policymakers a greater sense of urgency to focus on the singular goal of creating jobs,” said Bob Funk, CEO of Express and a former Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, in a release. “We can take heart that in these difficult times the American spirit of confident hopefulness endures, but we can’t accept this status quo—not for our country, not for our unemployed neighbors.” Continue reading “Poll: 47% of Unemployed Have ‘Completely Given Up’ Looking for a Job”
