With two major law enforcement agencies under criticism for their uses of force – including the Albuquerque Police Department under DOJ investigation – the state board responsible for police training has hired a new “paramilitary” director who dumped responsible use of force training in favor of more “shoot first” scenarios.

Although all federal contracts are supposed to be put out to bid, more than a third of them are non-competitive, that is there is only one vendor bidding on the chance to sell U.S. taxpayers goods and services.
The General Accounting Office (GAO) said that in fiscal 2013, the federal government agreed to $459 billion in contracts to purchase goods and services. Just to review, in Kansas you can be SWAT-raided and never be permitted to learn the basis for the warrant. This means the police can get a warrant for bogus reasons and reasonably expect that, if their victims are innocent, they will never be able to call them into an account.

Last week world leaders like Angela Merkel, David Cameron, Barack Obama, among many other world leaders, were simulating a nuclear device going off in a major western financial center, then testing their responses to such an event.

A former prime minister of Israel, is facing a lengthy prison sentence after being convicted of bribery, the Tazpit News Agency reported.

A recently released internal document shows what type of group Homeland Security believes poses a serious cyber terrorism threat. The lengthy report was intended for “Trusted Agents Only” and included information the agency stipulated could be “disseminated only on a need-to-know basis.”
The entire document was leaked, however; and a passage near the very end reveals a training exercise that might explain the perceived need for such stringent secrecy. According to directives, even those directly involved in the mission were not to be allowed access to the files. SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea and South Korea fired hundreds of artillery shells across their disputed western sea border on Monday, escalating military tensions a day after the North threatened to conduct more nuclear tests.
South Korean officials said the shells from both sides fell harmlessly into waters from which naval and fishing boats had stayed clear.
