Significant contagion has appeared in the first 24 hours after the Cyprus bank crisis “resolution,” with the forced bankruptcy of a large Spanish bank inclusive of a partial wipeout of depositors, and the pounding of bank stocks on the markets of Spain and Italy. Trading in bank stocks had to be halted multiple times in both countries to slow the plunge, and a downgrade of Italian sovereign credit by ratings agencies appears imminent. American Kabuki

This UCC document appeared on one of the Skype chats yesterday, it seemed familar to one mentioned to me by a very connected financial person.  The UCC filing statement from 2011 raised 14.3 Trillion in money under the Obama Administration by using the the people of the United States as “property improvement” capital on the land for purposes of collateral. You can’t file a UCC on property, but you can file on property improvements.

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea’s military warned Tuesday that its artillery and rocket forces are at their highest-level combat posture in the latest in a string of bellicose threats aimed at South Korea and the United States.

The announcement came as South Koreans marked the third anniversary of the sinking of a warship in which 46 South Korean sailors died.
