The first US presidential debate may have Americans looking north, according to Google Trends, which shows that Google searches for how to apply for Canadian citizenship and move to Canada drastically spiked following the chaotic faceoff on Tuesday between US President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

According to Google, queries for “how to apply for Canadian citizenship” spiked at 10:32 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, about one hour into the debate. At 4:24 a.m. on Wednesday, that same query skyrocketed in frequency. The Google search was most popular in Massachusetts, followed by Michigan, Illinois, New York and Pennsylvania, in that order. For any poor snowflake babies who couldn’t handle the nasty orange man telling Joe Biden “There’s nothing smart about you,” CWRU is providing a “confidential safe space” where they can talk and cry about it. Revered anti-weapons protester David Hogg got a taste of woke Twitter in the worst way, after setting out his belief that violent revolution would only lead to a violent government. Now he’s been forced to repent.

Of all the political activists in the United States, I can’t think of many that are as divisive as David Hogg. One of the group known as the Parkland kids (the students who survived the 2018 mass shooting at a Florida high school that left 17 dead), David is known for his anti-NRA and anti-gun diatribes. He seemed to become one of the political left’s darlings. He is the poster child for gun control in the eyes of many. That in and of itself makes him one of the most divisive figures in politics of the last five years. The University of North Carolina’s “Anti-Racist Graduate Worker Collective” is calling for the redistribution of administrators’ salaries for “worker relief.”

According to the Daily Tar Heel, a memo from the UNC System’s former interim president Bill Roper stated that chancellors in the System can issue salary reductions for certain employees, including faculty and senior administrators in an attempt to help mitigate COVID-19 losses.
