There are many propaganda operations surrounding the flu. Here I just want to boil down a few boggling facts.

Dr. Peter Doshi, writing in the online BMJ (British Medical Journal), reveals one monstrosity.

As Doshi states, every year, hundreds of thousands of respiratory samples are taken from flu patients in the US and tested in labs. Here is the kicker: only a small percentage of these samples show the presence of a flu virus.   Continue reading “Boggling flu hoax: not for prime-time news”

Ending weeks of infighting, the U.S. Congress on Wednesday voted to avert a government shutdown just hours before a midnight deadline, passing a stop-gap measure to extend funding for federal agencies until Dec. 11.

The House of Representatives relied heavily on Democrats to secure passage in a 277-151 vote. A large majority of Republicans voted against the measure, which did not meet conservatives’ demands to cut off money to women’s healthcare provider Planned Parenthood amid an abortion controversy.   Continue reading “Congress averts government shutdown, Obama signs funding measure”

Has the Department of Homeland Security’s “See Something, Say Something” initiative, which started following the 9/11 attacks, created a nation of spies? Yes, say a growing number of Americans and others who have been caught up in it.

A recent case in point involves an illegal immigrant in Texas. As reported by the Houston Press, Blanca Borrego and her two daughters were sitting in the waiting area of the Northeast Healthcare clinic in Atascocita for some two hours. The woman had not been in to see her gynecologist in a year, when the doctor discovered a cyst in her abdomen that had been causing her pain.   Continue reading “DHS and FEMA now using U.S. hospitals to monitor and arrest patients wanted by government”

The U.S. Senate on Wednesday overwhelmingly passed legislation to avert a government shutdown, sending the measure to the House of Representatives just hours before funding for federal agencies runs out at midnight.

Passed by a 78-20 vote, the bill would keep federal agencies funded at current levels through Dec. 11. It does not include a controversial provision to cut off money to Planned Parenthood that many conservative Republicans had demanded.   Continue reading “Senate passes bill to avert government shutdown, sends to House”

A thirty-five minute surveillance video has been released as part of the evidence during the trial of three former corrections officers in Lawrence County Ohio for excessive force. Corrections Officers Jeremy S. Hanshaw, Ronald S. Hatfield and Jason D. Mays can be seen beating, kicking, choking, and smothering an inmate continuously throughout that video. That inmate, Larry Kinstler, was restrained the entire time. Initially, he was in handcuffs while in subsequent assaults he was fully restrained and unable to move at all.   Continue reading “Video Shows Lawrence County Corrections Officers Beating and Choking Inmate”

Despite manufacturers have tirelessly designed new types of razor blades for a cleaner shave, the process has stayed virtually unchanged for thousands of years. The difference between a modern razor blade and an ancient roman shaving knife isn’t that large, on a fundamental level at least. This may set to change if the Skarp Laser Razor makes its way into the shaving kit market. The gadget is basically a high-tech razor – named so only by function – that uses a highly focused laser beam instead of a blade.   Continue reading “Forget about razor blades – it’s time to welcome the laser razor”

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Four in 10 Americans say they have “a great deal” or “a fair amount” of trust and confidence in the mass media to report the news fully, accurately and fairly. This ties the historical lows on this measure set in 2014 and 2012. Prior to 2004, slight majorities of Americans said they trusted the mass media, such as newspapers, TV and radio.   Continue reading “Americans’ Trust in Media Remains at Historical Low”

If politics can teach us anything, it’s that positions of power tend to attract people who are very different from you and me. Sometimes it’s difficult to tell if they’re just really stupid, really evil, or really crazy. In the case of this Mexican politician, she may be a little bit of all three.   Continue reading “Mexican Politician Thinks the Homeless Population Should Be Culled Like Dogs”

Believe it or not, the power of the mainstream media doesn’t just reside in their ability to lie. While they’re known to publish falsehoods on a regular basis, that’s not really their strong suit. Their propaganda reaches its highest potency when they tell the truth. All they have to do obsess over a real news story, over and over again, until they’ve convinced you that this event represents a dangerous new trend.   Continue reading “Why The “War on Police” Is a Complete Sham”

Perhaps if Ralphie had been told his Red Ryder BB gun was legally considered a “firearm” in some states, he wouldn’t have had to be told “you’ll shoot your eye out.”

It turns out the spring air action pellet gun so sought after in the holiday classic “A Christmas Story” is considered far more than a toy in the eyes of the law. Case in point: Minnesota, where the Court of Appeals ruled on Monday to uphold the conviction of David Lee Haywood for possession of a “firearm” – in this case a Walther CP99 Compact .177-caliber BB gun.   Continue reading “Court ruling makes Minnesota latest state to call BB gun ‘firearm’”

It should come as no surprise that crop dust – that is, dirt and other contaminants that accumulate mostly during harvest season – is full of some questionable ingredients. What one farmer found when he sent some dust from his hog building outside his brother’s and father’s farms where they grow Liberty Link and Roundup Ready corn is a little more shocking.

The farmer collected some dust from the corners of the building where he housed his pigs and sent it to a lab, simply labeling it ‘hog dust.’ Midwest labs sent back their results:   Continue reading “Farmer Finds Surprising Results When He Sends GMO Crop ‘Dust’ to Lab”

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” House Minority Leader  Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) refused to acknowledge the controversial series of undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood doctors negotiating  prices for fetal tissue are real.

Pelosi said, “I don’t stipulate that these videos are real. And the fact is — and fact is that the research that is being criticized there is research that has been supported. now.  I haven’t seen — I’ve seen some news reports of it, but I also know that it’s not real and you can create any reality that you want.”   Continue reading “Pelosi Doubts Planned Parenthood Videos ‘Are Real’”
