Dianne Feinstein, the chair of the US Senate committee charged with holding the intelligence establishment to account, declared on Monday that the National Security Agency’s mass collection of phone records is “not surveillance” and should be maintained as an essential tool to combat terrorism.

According to a lawsuit, the guard accused her of “publicly singing spiritual hymns.”

Officials in Israel’s intelligence community expressed shock and anger over the report Thursday that Turkey had given Tehran the identities of ten Israelis who were gathering information in Iran.

According to the report in the Washington Post Thursday, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan deliberately exposed a network of Iranians who had been working with the Mossad, Israel’s intelligence agency. A major bribery scandal involving an Asian military contractor has led to four arrests, including two top U.S. Navy officers – one of whom was adopted out of Cambodia as a child and who returned to the country nearly four decades later commanding a Navy destroyer.

In addition, a Navy captain was released from the command of his ship in Japan as a result of the investigation, The Washington Post reports. The Navy officers arrested were Cmdr.
