Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- Revising statements he made to Colorado Sheriffs opposed to gun control on June 13, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper (D) now says “he hasn’t changed his tune” and would sign the ban on “high capacity” magazines again if given the chance.
According to Denver’s Fox 31, after the June 13 2014 meeting, Hickenlooper came under intense scrutiny when he “appeared to backpedal on the magazine ban, agreeing with one sheriff that it was unenforceable.” But on June 20–a week after he allegedly said these things to the sheriffs gathered before him–Hickenlooper said: “I didn’t say it’s unenforceable, I said it’s difficult to enforce.” Continue reading “CO Gov Thumbs His Noes at Sheriff’s, Says He’d Sign Gun Control Again”
In the wake of a Bundy Ranch crisis sparked by a militarized federal land-grab effort in Nevada, it seems that the Department of Interior has set its sights on a new prize – this time targeting once protected Indian reservation land on Pine Ridge in South Dakota.
The Oglala Sioux and Lakota Sioux of the reservation have been told by the Federal Government that the National Parks Service will be taking land that comprises the South Unit of the Badlands National Park as a new ‘Tribal National Park’, only the wording in the bill clearly indicates that it will be a federally managed national park under the Department of Interior, giving mere lip service to its tribal title. The Congressional bill has already been written, and if passed through Congress, both tribal members and non tribal members will be stripped of their deeded land – at a price set by the federal government. If owners do not accept Washington’s offer (expected to be a meager one), the land can be acquired at no cost because the measure has waived all appraisal rights and stipulates that Washington can simply take Indian land by force under ‘eminent domain’. A PHILADELPHIA cop who allegedly pushed her own children to fight other kids – and who, on at least one occasion, allegedly jumped in a fight to punch a 14-year-old girl – was arrested yesterday on numerous assault and child-endangerment charges, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.
Officer Tamika Gross’ propensity for fighting has twice been detailed by the Daily News, once in 2009 when she got into a street fight with another woman while she was on duty and once in 2013, when she allegedly brought her 16-year-old suspended daughter back to Lincoln High School to fight a 14-year-old girl over a boy. In an appalling attempt to patent yet another seed, Monsanto has resorted to fraud to try to gain rights to a tomato which contains a naturally occurring resistance to a fungal disease called botrytis. The tomato is not genetically modified, but Monsanto manipulated documents to make the plant look ‘invented’ by biotech when the plant’s true maker is Mother Nature, herself.
Representatives of No Patents on Seeds! have called attention to this shady play of the biotech industry to try to outrun their failing genetic experiments. The original tomatoes used for this patent came from the international gene bank in Gatersleben, Germany, and they have shown this resistance for ages, well before biotech started monkeying with our food supply.
