EAST ISLIP, N.Y. — A family is suing a Long Island school district alleging that officials at their son’s middle school tried to force the child, who is Muslim, to write a false confession saying he was a terrorist and an ISIS supporter.
The lawsuit filed Monday in Suffolk County’s Central Islip Eastern District court alleges that Principal Mark Bernard and Assistant Principal Jason Stanton asked Nashwan Uppal to write out a comment he said to another student at East Islip Middle School. A group of Upstate New York fire officials on Monday ordered a department to stop flying American flags from its trucks, calling the patriotic display a “liability” and a possible “distraction.”

Despite “heroic” promises to accept 160,000 Syrian refugees, European Union member states have only accepted 6,000 to date while the US alone has already admitted 8,000 of the 10,000 promised. So in light of recent terrorist attacks this begs the question is the U.S. being honorable or just dumb? Video has emerged online of a large Washington DC police officer pressing a small woman against his patrol car – lifting her feet clean off the ground.

The National Assessment Governing Board (NAGB) and the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), is planning on assessing students social and emotional “mindsets” like “grit,” “desire for learning,” and “school climate.”

The NYPD’s “see something, say something” directive went awry Sunday night when the cheering and clapping of people watching the Olympics at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport was falsely reported as gunfire and fighting, touching off panic and an aggressive multi-agency “counter-terror” response.

DEVELOPING: Police were searching a Raleigh, N.C. mall for a gunman Saturday after witnesses reported shots fired in the building.
