Scientists say they have invented a new battery that could fully charge a smartphone in just one minute.
The researchers have created an aluminium battery which they hope could replace the lithium models commonly found in laptops and mobile phones.
And as well as the “unprecedented charging times” of their aluminium prototype, the team said it was also safer than lithium-ion batteries as it was less prone to catching fire and more environmentally friendly than alkaline models such as AA and AAA. A Texas veterinarian was fired after a Facebook photo showing her with her “first bow kill” — a local cat — went viral.
Dr. Kristen Lindsey bragged online that she killed a “feral” cat in her neighborhood in Brenham. She posted a photo on Wednesday, which shows her holding up the dead cat by an arrow protruding from its head, according to KBTX.
The caption reads:
“My first bow kill, lol. The only good feral tomcat is one with an arrow through it’s head! Vet of the year award … Gladly accepted.”

The dashboard and body camera footage has now been released in the fatal shooting of Jeanetta Riley. Riley, 35, was shot and killed by Sandpoint, Idaho police after they were called to a hospital where she had been treated for mental health problems.
The department has cleared its officers “of any criminal wrongdoing,” claiming that they followed all proper procedures when they chose to use an AR-15 assault rifle on the mentally ill, pregnant woman who was holding a knife outside of the hospital. A police chase in Harris County, Texas ended with the fatal shooting of the suspect, Wednesday.
Police say the chase began about 10:40 a.m. in the Crosstimbers area of US-59 when Houston officers tried to pull over 41 year old Frank Ernest ‘Trey’ Shephard, III for “suspicious activity,” including two unsafe lane changes.

World Bank ventures in less developed countries are hurting the people the organization has sworn to protect, with almost four million people across the globe left homeless, forcefully evicted and relocated as a result of World Bank-funded projects.
A probe by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ), which examined World Bank’s records in 14 countries, discovered that some 3.4 million of the “most vulnerable people” were forced off their land in the last decade. BIG SPRING – A large-scale military exercise set to run from July 15 to November 15 has sparked rampant conspiracy theories involving everything from Walmart to martial law.
The Special Operations mission, called Jade Helm 15, is just another training opportunity to “practice core special warfare tasks,” according to United States Army representatives.

An 11-year veteran of the Denver police department received a 30 day vacation for brutally shoving an innocent man down a flight of stairs. Officer Choice Johnson was only “disciplined” after surveillance video showed that his report on the incident was completely fabricated. The incident started during a bachelor party for the brother of Brandon Schreiber. Schreiber’s brother had a bit too much to drink and had fallen asleep at the bar. For this “crime,” Officer Johnson was arresting him.
