Bethlehem University is a very special place which I have been fortunate to visit several times. Described by its vice-chancellor as “an oasis of peace and a beacon of hope”, I found it a warmly-welcoming, vibrant melting pot of Christian and Muslim giving off endlessly good vibes.
The university’s latest newsletter arrived today with this important announcement: Continue reading “Bethlehem University – symbol of steadfastness”
Prior to the 2003 invasion and occupation of Iraq, US and other western oil companies were all but completely shut out of Iraq’s oilmarket. But thanks to the invasion and occupation, the companies are now back insideIraq and producing oil there for the first time since being forced out of the country in 1973.”

Two frightening incidents of vandalism in El Paso near the Mexican border in Texas have been interpreted as warnings from drug cartels.
In both instances, a mannequin wearing a suit and tie was tied to a billboard with a noose and messages were scrawled over the placards.
Local station KHOU reports that one of the signs reads ‘Plata o Plombo’ which translates to ‘silver or lead’, a threat used commonly against police officers effectively warning that if they do not accept the cartel’s bribes then they will be shot. WASHINGTON — It’s one of those promises the president would probably like to forget.
In vowing to make the Veterans Administration the model of national health-care reform back in 2008, the outlook for scandal-plagued Obamacare suddenly seems even worse. Continue reading “Obama 2008: VA will be ‘leader of health care reform’”
On Thursday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) gave House Republicans six weeks to pass amnesty legislation before President Barack Obama starts to use executive actions to ease deportations and change immigration laws.
“We’ve waited 329 days, we’re willing to wait another six weeks,” Reid said, according toPolitico. “But at the end of six weeks, if something hasn’t been done, then there’s gonna have to be a move made. And it’s too bad we have to do that, because we all know things can be done administratively, but it’s better to change the law.” Continue reading “Schumer, Reid: If Amnesty Not Passed by August, Obama Will Act Alone”

As oil production goes, Florida isn’t much of a player. The state produced less than 2 million barrels last year, which is how much oil Texas pumps from its wells each day.
That’s about to change as the revolution in oil drilling technology comes to Florida.
One of the areas targeted for oil drilling is at Jaime Duran’s doorstep in the southwestern part of the state. A retired engineer, Duran lives in a cottage with his wife, Pamela, and the chickens they raise on a 5-acre plot. Last year, the Durans were surprised when a man came by with information about a plot of land just 1,300 feet from their house. It is OK if you think that government is corrupt and incompetent, I think that too.
It is OK to have weapon in your home, and will and knowledge to use it, and it is very good if you think that TV is full of crap.
I think too that S. is gonna hit the fan, and that it makes sense to have bug out location and bug out bag, and lots of cans and ammo. Continue reading “Blending In and Survivalist Hate”
