IRS targeting-advocate, Rep. Elijah Cummings, pictured below, and his Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) members, sent a letter Monday to President Obama demanding a police czar and national regulations that would in effect nationalize local police forces.

“The administration must quickly establish a national commission to review existing police policies and practices,” the letter reads. “And identify the best policies and practices that can prevent more Fergusons and vastly improve policing in communities across the nation.”   Continue reading “Elijah Cummings’ Plan for a Police State Run by a Federal Czar”

BRISTOL, Conn. — A pair of thefts have disrupted the quiet rhythms of two Connecticut towns and have up-at-dawn farmers and their loyal farm stand clientele fuming.

“I would never have thought that people would steal corn from a farm,” said Lynn Laskowski, a college professor shopping at Green Acres Farm in Bristol, where a predawn theft recently netted $1,200 of ready-to-pick corn.   Continue reading “Crime Where Telltale Clue Is a Corn Tassel”

Two of the Moss Landing Harbor residents who were the subjects of random boat searches during Labor Day Weekend say their experiences were closer to armed invasions than the friendly “safety inspections” characterized by U.S. Coast Guard officials.

Both residents said search crews entered the harbor in inflatable boats with machine guns mounted on their bows. Then, carrying M-16 rifles, they approached residents and boarded and searched their boats in the name of safety and “homeland security.”   Continue reading “Boat owners say they were fearful during Coast Guard search”

KINGMAN, Ariz. — An instructor who was shot by a 9-year-old girl who fired an Uzi at a northwestern Arizona shooting range died Monday night at University Medical Center in Las Vegas.

The girl fired the weapon at the outdoor range that caters to heavy tourism traffic along U.S. Highway 93 between Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon Skywalk.

Highway signage and Internet advertising beckons visitors to stop in, fire a machine gun and enjoy a meal at the Bullets and Burgers enterprise at the Last Stop, about 25 miles south of Las Vegas.   Continue reading “Shooting instructor dies after being accidentally shot by girl”

Sorry, but when it comes to Coast Guard boardings, you don’t have any rights.

I’m surprised how many boaters don’t know this. The US Coast Guard can board your boat any time they want, and look anywhere they want, without probable cause or a warrant. They can do this on the open sea, or while you’re asleep aboard in your marina at midnight. They can look through your bedsheets, in your lockers, in your bilges, in your jewelry box, or in your pockets. They can do it carrying just their sidearms, or they can do it carrying assault rifles. They can be polite about it or they can be rude, but mostly they’re polite.   Continue reading “Coast Guard Boardings and Your Fourth Amendment Rights”

A man, who didn’t fire any shots, is facing first degree murder charges after an innocent woman was killed by a bullet fired by an Orlando police officer.

According to the Orlando police department, three officers were dispatched to the Vixen Bar at 118 South Orange Ave, in Orlando, Fl. on August 19, after getting reports of a gunman making threats.

“I have a gun-wielding maniac,” one of the club’s employees told 911 dispatchers as Roach banged on the door with the pistol just before 1 a.m. “He set it on the bar top and he wielded it many times. I had to throw him out.”   Continue reading “Cops Haphazardly Killed an Innocent Woman. Now They are Charging Someone Else for Her Murder”

MILLIONS OF AMERICANS ARE VULNERABLE TO STARVATIONThe Common Sense Show – by Dave Hodges

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, part of the Department of Transportation, published last week an “advanced notice of proposed rulemaking” on “vehicle-to-vehicle communications.”

What NHTSA is proposing could begin a transformation in the American transportation system that makes our lives better and freer — or gives government more power over where we go and when.     Continue reading “DOT Proposes Mandating Cars Broadcast Location, Direction and Speed”

WEST POINT, Miss. — West Point police said a man received life-threatening injuries in what they are investigating as an aggravated assault at a restaurant.

Ralph Weems IV, who was injured early Saturday, was in fair condition Sunday at North Mississippi Medical Center, hospital spokeswoman Genie Causey said without elaborating.

A relative, Bradley Barnes of Madison, told The Associated Press by telephone on Sunday that his brother-in-law was in a medically induced coma following brain surgery. “They’re going to try and wake him up tomorrow and see what damage was done,” Barnes said, describing Weems as a 32-year-old former Marine who had served in Iraq.   Continue reading “Mississippi man beaten after he’s warned restaurant wasn’t safe for whites, witness says”

President Obama is working to create a new international climate change accord that would get other nations to reduce their carbon emissions, but in a way that would not require the deal to be ratified by the Senate.

Obama’s climate team is putting together a “politically binding” deal to “name and shame” nations to cut their emissions, according to The New York Times.

The administration’s hope is to get the deal signed by a United Nations summit next year in Paris.   Continue reading “Obama looks to skip Senate on new UN climate change deal”

In a jail cell in Mexico sits Andrew Tahmooressi, a former Marine Corps Sergeant who served honorably and survived two combat tours in Afghanistan. For almost five months, Andrew has languished in prison for simply taking a wrong turn into Mexico.

In past months, President Obama has found enough time to respond to the proposed deportation of Justin Bieber, talk up the White House beer recipe and offer insights into a wide variety of topics that are comparatively insignificant. His own online petition page collected more than the 120,000 signatures, thereby requiring a response from the White House. But Obama has yet to utter a single word on behalf of Tahmooressi.   Continue reading “Obama Fiddles While Marine Sits In Mexican Jail Cell”

Videotape proved essential for Freddie Gregory, a motorist falsely accused of traffic violations by a high-ranking Kentucky State Police trooper. The US Court of Appeals on Friday allowed Gregory to pursue false arrest charges against Lieutenant Phillip Burnett.

Since February 2009, Lieutenant Burnett had stopped Gregory on three occasions under what the motorist considered to be bogus circumstances. The 53-year-old decided to install a video camera to document the harassment. The device was ready on April 4, 2009, when Gregory decided to take his granddaughter to lunch in his pickup truck. As he was leaving his driveway, Gregory spotted Lieutenant Burnett about twenty yards away.      Continue reading “Kentucky: Lawsuit Restored Against Cop Caught Lying About Traffic Stop”

Congressional investigators made another call for the appointment of an IRS scandal special prosecutor after discovering that key lawyers for the scandal-plagued agency have a “conflict of interest” in the case.

Department of Justice tax division attorney Andrew Strelka, who represented the IRS in litigation related to the scandal, worked under Lerner at the IRS Exempt Organizations division from 2008 to 2010. While at the agency, Strelka was part of the IRS’ conservative targeting scheme, according to documents obtained by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform and provided to The Daily Caller.   Continue reading “House Committee: DOJ Lawyers Have ‘Conflict of Interest’ In IRS Case”

County governments on individual islands in Hawaii may have stirred the pot when it comes to genetically modified crop and pesticide use, but U.S. District Court Judge Barry M. Kurren has now ordered them out of the kitchen.

The federal judge has declared that the County of Kauai’s ordinance on GM crops and pesticide use is “preempted by state law and therefore invalid.” Furthermore Judge Kurren’s order forbids the County of Kauai from implementing or enforcing its ordinance.   Continue reading “Federal Judge Strikes Down Kauai Law Limiting GM Crops and Pesticides”
