WASHINGTON (AP) — Wearing a lapel camera and posing as an Internet repairman, an undercover government agent walked into a luxury villa at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and recorded everything he saw as part of a major international gambling bust.

Defense lawyers said the FBI shut off Internet access to the suspects’ villas and then agents impersonated repair technicians to get inside and collect evidence in an elaborate ruse the morning of July 4.   Continue reading “Elaborate FBI repairman ruse shown in videos”

SALT LAKE CTIY (AP) — A Utah couple and their three children found dead in their home last month were likely poisoned, their bodies found together in a locked room with cups next to each of them, and empty bottles of methadone and nighttime cold medicine in a trash can.

Police in Springville aren’t saying who killed the family or whether one of the parents might have been involved. Toxicology results have not determined an exact cause of death, but search warrants obtained Wednesday say the family was likely poisoned.   Continue reading “Police: Poison likely killed Utah family of 5”

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Spanish flu pandemic a century ago prompted the last large-scale quarantines in this country. Now the Ebola outbreak is raising new questions about whether ordering quarantines is an effective way to fight deadly disease in the U.S.

Health experts say putting people into quarantine can be appropriate on a case-by-case basis. In a high-profile case in 2007, an Atlanta man believed to have a rare, extremely drug-resistant form of tuberculosis was ordered into federal quarantine after returning to the country from his wedding overseas. Later tests found a less dangerous form of TB.   Continue reading “Quarantines rarely used, effectiveness questioned”

An election-watch group is suing Maryland over the alleged presence of noncitizens on the state’s voting rolls.

The lawsuit, filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Baltimore, asserts that individuals who opted out of jury duty because they were not legal U.S. residents have cast ballots in at least three Maryland elections.

Based on the number of potential unqualified voters identified in Frederick County, up to 7 percent of Maryland’s registered voters could be illegal immigrants, according to estimates.   Continue reading “Group sues Maryland over ‘illegal’ voters”

Wealth preservation expert Egon von Greyerz is not bullish on the U.S. dollar.  Greyerz explains, “More and more countries are trying to go away from the dollar, and I think the days of the dollar are counted.  I think the dollar is going to start falling rapidly in coming months and years.  Of course, it already has fallen dramatically in the last few decades, but that will now accelerate.  It will go down to its intrinsic value which is zero, which most currencies do over their lifetime.  Of course, we have the movements in Russia and China with alternative currencies for commodities like oil, etc.  There will be a very disorderly reset with currencies falling.  They can’t all fall at the same time, but they will fall dramatically, and gold will, of course, reflect that.   Continue reading “Disorderly Reset Coming-Dollar Goes to Zero-Egon von Greyerz”

This week, the World Trade Organization (WTO) finally issued a decision in the challenge made by Mexico and Canada to the U.S.’s country-of-origin (COOL) labeling rules for meat. And environmental and food safety groups are hopping mad, as WTO upheld the contention made by those countries, supported by multi0national meat packers, that the rules unfairly impede global trade.

“The meatpacking lobby has lost the COOL debate from the court of public opinion to the Court of Appeals to the halls of Congress so they are taking their complaint to the faceless unelected bureaucrats in Geneva,” said Wenonah Hauter, executive director of Food & Water Watch. “When the meat cannot get its way here in America, it is trying to use the WTO to overturn the will of the American people.”   Continue reading “WTO Says U.S. Consumers Don’t Need to Know Where Meat Comes From”

Concealed Nation – by Brandon

An armed employee was at work this past Sunday at a Birmingham KFC when two armed men stormed in to try and rob the place. At the time of the robbery, there were no customers inside the store. The two robbers likely waited until the place was empty to begin their robbery.

While the armed employee was trying to take cover, he was shot in the leg by one of the armed robbers. It is at this time that the employee drew a firearm of his own and fired back, hitting one robber in the stomach and sent both of them fleeing. The robber hit in the stomach later turned up at a local hospital in search of treatment for his wounds. He was last listed in critical condition and will face charges (if he makes it).   Continue reading “KFC Employee Opens Fire On Armed Robbers After Being Shot”

The herb astragalus has been found in peer reviewed studies to double survival rates of cancer patients undergoing radiation therapy. Every researcher should be studying this herb for its cancer-fighting properties, but the problem is that those in the medical field wouldn’t be able to write a pharmaceutical prescription for an ancient herb that has been boosting immunity for over 2,000 years. Though that doesn’t mean you can’t still take it, and if you have undergone radiation to try to overcome cancer, you’ll want to.   Continue reading “Studies Find Chinese Herb Doubles Survival Rate of Cancer Patients Undergoing Radiation”
