Carnell Alexander via WXYZ: “I feel like I’m standing in front of a brick wall with nowhere to go.”

That’s Carnell Alexander. He currently owes about $30,000 in back child support. The state of Michigan says if he doesn’t pay up, he could face prison time. But here’s the thing: The child, who is now an adult, isn’t Alexander’s, and he has the DNA tests to prove it.    Continue reading “Court says man owes child support for kid who isn’t his”

In an epic metamorphosis, an Oklahoma beer deliveryman-turned-cape crusader took down a would-be assailant trying to commit armed robbery.

Brock Nulph, a beer deliveryman for Pope Beer Distributing, was making his weekly Monday morning stop at D&T Convenience Store when the attempted robbery began to unfold.

An unidentified 14-year-old boy entered D&T wearing a makeshift mask. Kristi Sheimann was the store’s cashier at the time and she recalls telling to boy take the mask off or leave the stores premises.     Continue reading ““Coors Man” Turned Superhero Flanks Would-Be Assailant”

A global effort to counter claims by the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL) that it is acting in the name of Islam must include a counter-narrative that highlights “our profound respect” for the religion, the administration’s point man in the anti-ISIS coalition said this week.

Retired Marine Corps Gen. John Allen was speaking in Kuwait, where representatives of more than a dozen Islamic and Western met to discuss using public communications to combat ISIS (also known as Da’esh – an acronym for the Arabic rendering of the group’s name, ad-Dawlah al-Islamiyah fil-Iraq wa ash-Sham).   Continue reading “US Envoy: To Defeat ISIS, We Must Highlight ‘Our Profound Respect’ for Islam”

I’ve seen more than a few bizarre US election campaigns in my life. In 2004 when Barrack Obama won his Illinois US Senate seat, I won the Democratic primary for Congress across the big muddy river in Missouri’s 8th District.

I lost the general election to Republican Jo Ann Emerson’s Corporate PAC-Money Machine- she raised $1 million to my $17,000. Refusing to accept corporate money, I never had a chance, but we stirred it up and built a more progressive Democratic Party in Missouri’s 8th Congressional District.   Continue reading “Republican Actors/Illuminati Directors”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has dismissed criticisms by the United States and the European Union (EU) of the Zionist regime’s plan to build more than 1,000 settler units in the occupied Palestinian lands.

“I’ve heard the claim that our construction [of 1,060 new settler units] in Jewish neighborhoods in Jerusalem (East al-Quds) distances peace. It’s this criticism that distances peace. These statements are detached from reality,” the Israeli premier said on Tuesday.   Continue reading “Israel dismisses US, EU criticisms of settlements plan”

The battle for hearts and minds is on and the elite are getting fed up with citizen proles who believe it a right to speak freely and openly about their ideologies and criticisms of government policies.

Their attempts to control the agenda and conversation have repeatedly been met with protests, both online and off, as traditional mainstream audiences migrate by the millions to alternative media and citizen journalism.   Continue reading “Police State Targets Dissidents: Government To “Impose Extreme Disruption Orders On Individuals””

flareSlate – by Phil Plait, October 22, 2014

Sure enough, as predicted, the freakishly huge sunspot AR 2192 blew out a powerful X-class flare [last Wednesday] around 14:00 UTC. The picture above shows the view from the Solar Dynamics Observatory; in the far ultraviolet it’s very sensitive to solar activity. Note the Earth for scale there, in case you need the Universe to crush your feeling of self-importance under its heel.

Flares are massive explosions on the Sun associated with sunspots. You can read about them in detail in an earlier post I wrote, but the quickie version is that magnetic fields in sunspots can store vast amounts of energy. Looping magnetic field lines can get tangled up and snap, releasing their energy as mind-crushing explosions called flares. They’re rated by how much X-ray energy they emit; for example M-class are “moderate”, and X-class are the highest.

All soldiers returning from the Ebola mission in West Africa will undergo a 21-day quarantine.

John Kirby, the Pentagon press secretary, in a statement Wednesday.   Continue reading “Pentagon Announces It Will Quarantine Soldiers Returning From Ebola Mission”

An American national study that looked at hospital emergency department visits for opioid overdoses found that 67.8% of the cases involved overdosing on prescription opioid drugs, including methadone. Next in line were heroin, other unspecified opioids and multiple opioids. It’s estimated that the treatment costs for the hospitalized overdosed patients in 2010 alone was $2.3 billion.

Recreational use of prescription drugs is a serious problem with teens and young adults. National studies show that a teen is more likely to have abused a prescription drug than an illegal street drug. Actually, according to the  National Institute on Drug Abuse an estimated 48 million people (aged 12 and older) have used prescription drugs for nonmedical reasons in their lifetime or roughly 20% of the US population. The three most commonly abused prescription drug classes are:   Continue reading “Prescription painkillers cause 67.8% of opioid overdoses. Heroin a distant second at 16.1%”

Department of Homeland Security investigator David Nieland had been investigating a Secret Service prostitution scandal.New York Times – by MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT

WASHINGTON — The investigator who led the Department of Homeland Security’s internal review of the Secret Service’s 2012 prostitution scandal quietly resigned in August after he was implicated in his own incident involving a prostitute, according to current and former department officials.

Sheriff’s deputies in Broward County, Fla., saw David Nieland, the investigator, entering and leaving a building they had under surveillance as part of a prostitution investigation, according to officials briefed on the investigation. They later interviewed a prostitute who identified Mr. Nieland in a photograph and said he had paid her for sex.   Continue reading “Investigator in Secret Service Prostitution Scandal Resigns after being Implicated in Own Incident”

There is no other country in the world that allows members of its national government to be a citizen of two different nations at the same time, except the United States. The dual citizen status can only apply to citizens of Israel, and no other country. This change to US law was made possible by the subversion and betrayal of Jewish Supreme Court Justice Abe Fortas, a Johnson appointee, who later had to resign from the Supreme Court. This disastrous change to our immigration law MUST be changed back to no dual citizens allowed to participate in any government office.    Continue reading “At Least 29 Members of US House of Representatives Are Israeli Dual Citizens”

Pennsylvania Democrats are outraged after a bill was passed that allows gun rights groups like the NRA to sue localities for passing gun control measures that violate state law.

Many such Democrats said a provision forcing localities that lose lawsuits to pay the legal fees of the plaintiffs is particularly objectionable.

“This is a dangerous provision that threatens municipalities’ financial stability,” Rep. Madeleine Dean (D., Montgomery) told the Philadelphia Inquirer.   Continue reading “Pennsylvania Democrats Angry They Can Now be Sued For Passing Illegal Gun Laws”
