When confronted with specific allergens or cold and flu viruses, the body may produce excess histamine and mucus. This inflammation can cause congestion in the sinuses, backing up the cavities with phlegm which causes pressure in the head. The excess phlegm can even trigger a bronchial spasm, producing a cough and subsequent irritation. In any case, it’s important not to suppress these bodily responses. Instead, one should work with these responses, enhancing their healing nature. By using demulcent and expectorant herbs, one can increase the effectiveness of these bodily responses, using mucus as an advantage while clearing out congestion.   Continue reading “Clear out congestion with these herbal remedies”

Portland State University recently hosted Angela Davis, a renowned Black Panther and former 2 time Communist Party USA nominee for Vice President. Ms. Davis had the honor of giving the keynote address during the university’s MLK Week.

In a video posted by LaughingAtLiberals, her speech including sympathizing with the Charlie Hebdo shooters by saying “It is so sad to see that the use of the term “terrorist”, which reminds me of the way communist used to be used, spreads such fear in people’s hearts…To ask questions about those young men who did that horrible thing in Paris. But what kind of lives were they living? No one talks about the conditions under which they live, in the ghettos surrounding Paris. People don’t like to talk about French racism. Seems to me like we have to be willing to look at the entire story and not simply use the word “terrorism.”   Continue reading “Communist Black Panther Gives MLK Week Keynote At PSU”

Did you ever think about what your life would be like if the stores were closed? I’m not talking about a post-apocalyptic Mad Max scenario or a winter storm that clears the shelves. I’m talking about a long-term disruption of services caused by an economic collapse.

What if you couldn’t run to Wal-Mart to get soap?  What if the grocery store had supplies so limited that they were rationed out to people in such small amounts that the food you got was not enough to meet your needs? What if there were no diapers for your baby or aspirin to cure a headache?   Continue reading “This Is What a Real-Life Economic Collapse Looks Like”

District Attorney-BriberyThink Progress – by Nicole Flatow

At least professionally, the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s office has already paid for filing murder charges against two cops who shot and killed a homeless man in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Just a day after DA Kari Brandenburg announced for the first time in recent memory that she would pursue criminal charges against cops for an on-duty deadly shooting, there was another police shooting in the city, which has seen a spate of fatal police shootings since 2010 at eight times the rate of New York City.   Continue reading “The Prosecutor Who Filed Murder Charges Against The Cops Is Becoming A Police Target”

DSC02644I can count on you to do NOTHING! You are bought and paid for, otherwise you would be calling out the poisoning of Oregonians with the insane geo-engineering of our weather and the manufacturing of a drought which will irrevocably alter entire ecosystems. Perennial streams in Lakeview are bone dry, large vegetated islands are forming in the middle of southern Oregon rivers like the Sprague, and for the first time in living memory we have NO ******* January snow at Lake of the Woods in the high Cascades.   Continue reading “My Letter to Senator Jeff Merkley”

Times of Israel

Israel’s Ambassador to the US Ron Dermer defended on Sunday Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s planned speech before the US Congress on March 3, just two weeks before Israeli national elections, saying it was the prime minister’s “sacred duty” to present his stance on Iran — a stance sharply at odds with the Obama administration.

Speaking at an Israel Bonds event in Florida, Dermer charged that the nuclear agreement being discussed between the P5+1 and Tehran “could endanger the very existence of the State of Israel,” by leaving Iran as a “nuclear threshold state.”   Continue reading “Israel’s US envoy: PM’s planned Congress speech ‘a sacred duty’”

HAIFA, Israel (AP) — Israel’s Arab political parties are banding together under one ticket for the first time ever ahead of national elections in March, hoping to boost turnout and help unseat Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The result is an awkward political marriage of communists, Palestinian nationalists, religious Muslims, feminists and even one Jew. But Arab politicians say it will improve chronically low Arab voter turnout and help block Netanyahu from forming the next government.   Continue reading “Arab lawmakers shake up Israeli politics with historic union”
