Police State Big Brother Prison Grid - Public DomainThe Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder

Why would the government want to punish people that are just trying to work hard, become more self-sufficient and take care of their families?  There are approximately 3 million preppers in the United States today, and often they appear to be singled out for punishment by bureaucratic control freaks that are horrified at the thought that there are families out there that actually want to try to become less dependent on the system.  So if you use alternative methods to heat your home, or if you are not connected to the utility grid, or if you collect rainwater on your property, or if you believe that parents should have the ultimate say when it comes to health decisions for their children, you could become a target for overzealous government enforcers.  Once upon a time, America was the land of the free and the home of the brave, but now we are being transformed into a socialist police state where control freak bureaucrats use millions of laws, rules and regulations to crack down on anyone that dares to think for themselves.   Continue reading “All Over America, Government Officials Are Cracking Down On Preppers”

According to Army Times, our Army is now concentrating on fighting in ‘megacities’ of 20 million or more people against “criminal and extremist groups” who can “influence the lives of the population while undermining the authority of the state.”

“It is inevitable that at some point the United States Army will be asked to operate in a megacity and currently the Army is ill-prepared to do so,” reported Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno’s Strategic Studies Group.   Continue reading “Army Times: The Army Is Preparing For War In Megacities”

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Just 12 hours before police said John Jonchuck threw his 5-year-old daughter off a bridge — perhaps while she was still alive — the father calmly told a sheriff’s deputy he didn’t want to hurt himself or his little girl and had “new clarity in his life.”

The officer had made a point of interviewing Jonchuck in person because Jonchuck’s own attorney frantically called 911 to report that he was acting “strange.” The attorney, Genevieve Torres, said Jonchuck had called her “God” and asked her to translate a Bible in Swedish when they met Wednesday to talk about Jonchuck’s custody case for his daughter, Phoebe.   Continue reading “Dad accused of tossing girl off bridge called lawyer ‘God’”

When you are dealing with China everything is big, especially numbers. Now China announced another big number, a $250 billion investment program for South America.

The problem with numbers is that, on the one hand, they hide a lot of things and on the other hand jump to conclusions which simply aren’t true after close examination.   Continue reading “China Wants to Buy Out Latin America”

“Jesus turned water into wine, I turned it into damn likker” – Popcorn Sutton

Appalachia’s history is largely comprised of tales of resistance of one form or another.  The poster child of Appalachia’s rebellion against unjust authority has always been the Moonshiner, the maker of non-government approved distilled spirits. These spirits were commonly referred to in the southern lexicon as moonshine, mountain dew, white lightning, “painter piss,” or perhaps more simply “likker.” There is no moonshiner more infamous than the Smoky Mountain’s own, Marvin “Popcorn” Sutton. He was not only one of the most famous makers of illicit liquor, but he also led his entire life in defiance of government authority and was quite a character to boot.   Continue reading “Popcorn Sutton: Whiskey Rebel”

President Barack Obama on Friday will propose making two years of community college free for students.

In a White House video posted Thursday evening, Obama said he wanted to offer “a little preview” of his plans for the Jan. 20 State of the Union address.

“What I’d like to do is to see the first two years of community college free for everybody who’s willing to work for it,” Obama said. “It’s something we can accomplish, and it’s something that will train our workforce so that we can compete with anybody in the world.”   Continue reading “Obama to propose two free years of community college for students”

The year 2015 will have an extra second — which could wreak havoc on the infrastructure powering the Internet.

At 11:59 p.m. on June 30, clocks will count up all the way to 60 seconds. That will allow the Earth’s spin to catch up with atomic time.

The Earth’s spin is gradually slowing down, by about two thousandths of a second per day, but atomic clocks are constant. That means that occasionally years have to be lengthened slightly, to allow the slowing Earth to catch up with the constant clock.   Continue reading “Computer chaos feared over 2015’s leap second”

Were accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev imprisoned in another country and barred from speaking to the outside world, he’d doubtlessly be described as “being held incommunicado.”

Yet since he’s an accused terrorist being held in the United States, the Justice Department-ordered gag on him has barely been noticed. And were anyone to ask why he’s forcibly been kept silent, they’d be told he’s been subjected to “Special Administrative Measures.”   Continue reading “Why the Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect Is Silent”

The current status between North Korea and The United States is not very good. The North Koreans have been by the United States after President Obama stated that North Korea was behind the attacks on Sony. Let’s take a look back, 3 years to be exact.

It was on the first of June 2012 that The New York times published a post about how Obama ordered various waves of cyber attacks against Iran. In the article it becomes clear that the creation of the Stuxnet virus was a collaboration between The United States and Israel.   Continue reading “So it is ok to release “Stuxnet” but it is not ok to attack Sony Mr. Obama?”

The city of Houston, which created a firestorm of controversy by issuing subpoenas for copies of pastors’ sermons in a case over a transgender “rights” ordinance, now contends the pastors have no right to a jury trial and wants a hand-picked “special master” to review the evidence.

The dispute centers on tens of thousands of signatures collected on petitions to overturn the city’s “equal rights” ordinance adopted under the direction of lesbian mayor Annise Parker. Church members and pastors were outraged, and collected the signatures to reverse the decision.   Continue reading “Uh-oh: Lesbian mayor back to her old tricks”

Speaker of the House John Boehner defended his conservative bona fides Thursday, arguing during a press conference that it “pains” him to be described as a “squish” by members of his own party

His comments, directed at the conservative wing of the GOP, come days after 25 members of his own party, many of whom argue he is not sufficiently conservative, voted against him for speaker. Boehner still won re-election.   Continue reading “Boehner: ‘I’m The Most Anti-Establishment Speaker We’ve Ever Had’”

Economy Watch

Workers on the U.S. west coast are experiencing serious challenges when it comes to landing a full-time job. This is forcing millions of Americans to languish in part-time positions, because there are no other options available. In the state of California alone, over 1.2 million people are underemployed. In total, that number equates to the same population of Oakland and San Francisco.

Some people wonder why you would live in a state that is so anti-business. This is what California has done to itself and they just raised taxes.   Continue reading “The Part-Time Economy Consuming America”

Senator Rand Paul

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Ron Wyden, D-Ore., Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Jeff Merkley, D-Ore., today introduced legislation that would allow American farmers to grow and profit from industrial hemp.

The Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2015 would remove federal restrictions on the domestic cultivation of industrial hemp. The bill would remove hemp from the Schedule I controlled substance list under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970, and would define it as a non-drug so long as it contained less than 0.3 percent tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).   Continue reading “Senators Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Roll Back Hemp Restrictions”
