In June the Greek “Truth Committee on Public Debt” established by Zoi Konstantopoulou the speaker of the Greek parliament “came to the conclusion that Greece should not pay this debt because it is illegal, illegitimate, and odious.”
The establishment media has hidden from view the facts behind the debt and has sided with the banks in declaring the population of Greece deserves austerity and its attendant poverty and misery because of the Greek government’s intransigence and refusal to accept the harsh conditions of the Troika, consisting of the IMF, European Commission and European Central Bank. PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — The reclusive beekeeper who co-founded Burt’s Bees, and whose face and wild beard appeared on labels for the natural cosmetics, died on Sunday. Burt Shavitz was 80.
A spokeswoman for Burt’s Bees said in an emailed statement Shavtiz died of respiratory complications in Bangor, Maine, surrounded by family and friends. Shavitz was a hippie making a living by selling honey when his life was altered by a chance encounter with a hitchhiking Roxanne Quimby. She was a single mother and a back-to-the-lander who impressed Shavitz with her ingenuity and self-sufficiency. Continue reading “Burt Shavitz, the Burt behind Burt’s Bees, dies at 80”
KAMPALA, Uganda (AP) — The fugitive leader of the Lord’s Resistance Army is sickly and in retreat from an international manhunt that includes U.S. forces, a Ugandan military spokesman said Monday, citing the accounts of recent defectors who are backing up reports that the rebel group is in decline.
Joseph Kony is possibly suffering from diabetes, according to defectors who surrendered to Ugandan troops last month in Central African Republic, said Lt. Col. Paddy Ankunda. That account is probably true, he said, because Ugandan intelligence over the years “also indicates that Kony has diabetes.” Continue reading “Fugitive African warlord Joseph Kony is said to be sickly”
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — While it appears there is broad support in the South Carolina Legislature to bring down the Confederate flag, the depth of that support will get its first test this week as lawmakers return to Columbia to come up with a specific plan.
The General Assembly returns Monday to discuss Gov. Nikki Haley’s budget vetoes and what to do with the rebel flag that has flown over some part of the Statehouse for more than 50 years. Several bills have been filed, but details like when to bring down the flag that currently flies on a pole by a monument to Confederate soldiers in front of the state Capitol, whether to put another flag in its place and what kind of ceremony should mark the removal aren’t specified. Obama’s war is in its fourth year – using Islamic State and other takfiri terrorists as US proxies to replace Bashar al-Assad with a pro-Western puppet.
Continued conflict killed over 200,000, displaced millions more and created the world’s greatest internal and external refugee crisis. Nothing in prospect suggests ending things diplomatically. Continue reading “Russia Vows Continued Support For Embattled Syria”

You would think that parents would have the final say over their children’s health, but in America, that’s simply not the case anymore. The government has its own agenda for your kids, and if you don’t like it, tough. They’re not really your kids anymore. They belong to the state.
Especially if you live in Seattle, Washington. CNS news recently reported that 13 school clinics in Seattle offer free birth control implants to their students, such as IUDs. What’s more alarming though, is the fact that these implants can be given without informing the parents of any child who is in at least 6th grade. Continue reading “Seattle 6th Graders Get Birth Control Implants Without Parental Consent”

The last crash was caused by reckless investments in subprime mortgage-backed securities, an ingenious way to repackage and redistribute staggering amounts of credit risk to unsuspecting investors. After losing their house and their money, some investors may take comfort in their enduring marital relationships. Unfortunately, marriage is one of the riskiest bets of all, which makes it a prime, or should I say “subprime” target for Wall Street’s masters of innovation. The May 16, 2004 BBC Panorama program (London Under Attack) had a What If scenario looking at organizing TV coverage of bombings at 3 Tube stations and on one road vehicle. They concluded that the BBC would have to allow Security officials to dictate their coverage.

Supreme Court says corporate entities cannot be used to evade Constitution
Reader C., whose primary focus is Home Owners Associations et al., send us the following, wherein it appears a Supreme Court decision involving AMTRAK should also apply to HOA issues.
But wait – shouldn’t it also apply to “Corp. US”…? Seems to me it definitely should. 🙂 In which case the Court has set a precedent that would make any unConstitutional statutes and regulations passed in roughly the past one hundred years “void ab initio”. Judith Harrington, an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, says that, given the current furor over the Confederate battle flag, we should now consider changing … Minnesota’s state flag.
According to the Minnesota Legislative Manual, the flag includes an “Indian on horseback … riding due south and [representing] the Indian heritage of Minnesota. The Indian’s horse and spear and pioneer’s ax, rifle, and plow represent tools that were used for hunting and labor.” Continue reading “Prof: Change Minnesota’s flag, too, because of ‘racist’ contrast between white guy and Indian”

London, U.K. – An ancient Anglo-Saxon potion, used to treat eye infections in the 10th-century, has shown the potential to eradicate the modern MRSA superbug, according to research.
The ancient remedy was uncovered in the British Library in a leather-bound edition of what is considered one of the earliest known medical textbooks, Bald’s Leechbook. Continue reading “Scientists Find 10th Century Medicine that kills MRSA”

Automated software maintained by NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office calculates their orbits, velocity, penetration depth in Earth’s atmosphere and many other characteristics. On Friday, presidential aspirant Hillary Clinton addressed a hand-picked audience at a Dartmouth College campaign event. She lied calling Iran an “existential threat to Israel… I hope we are able to get a deal next week that puts a lid on (its) nuclear weapons program.”
Even if we do get such a deal, we will still have major problems from Iran. They are the world’s chief sponsor of terrorism. Continue reading “Hillary Clinton: “If I’m President, We Will Attack Iran””
ATHENS, Greece – Greece lurched into uncharted territory and an uncertain future in Europe’s common currency Sunday after voters overwhelmingly rejected demands by international creditors for more austerity measures in exchange for a bailout of its bankrupt economy.
Results showed 61 percent voted “no,” compared with 38 percent for “yes,” with 97 percent of the vote counted. The referendum — Greece’s first in more than four decades — came amid severe restrictions on financial transactions in the country, imposed last week to stem a bank run that accelerated after the vote was called.
