Huffington Post – by Ryan Grim

The ubiquity of cellphone, dashcam and surveillance video has transformed the way the public understands police violence. But as scene after scene unfolds on shaky screens and in grainy contours, another element of the violence is beginning to come into focus: the pattern of officers showing no concern for the person they have shot, often fatally.

The nonchalance around the injured and the dying is stunning in its own way.

The Federalist Papers – by Robert Gehl

In their bizarre showcase of illegal aliens on the first day of their convention, Democrats not only shamelessly used a little girl for crass political reasons, they also managed to break federal immigration law – twice.

Karla Ortiz has appeared on television and in commercials telling Hillary Clinton how scared she is that her illegal immigrant mom will be deported. In the ad – and again Monday night – we hear that Hillary told her that she would do the worrying for Karla. Aww.   Continue reading “DNC Breaks Federal Law; Violation of Sec. 8 U.S. Code § 1324”

The Obama administration announced plans Tuesday to expand a refugee program for Central American children who are fleeing danger, part of a broader effort to stem the unregulated flow of unaccompanied minors across the southern U.S. border.

The State Department program, launched in December 2014 after a massive influx of children that year swamped border patrol stations, allows children from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras to seek protections in the United States by applying within their own country.   Continue reading “U.S. to expand refugee program for Central American minors”

Two suicide bombers detonated explosives-laden cars on Tuesday outside the offices of the U.N.’s mine-clearing agency and a Somali army checkpoint in Mogadishu, killing 13 people, including seven guards, Somali police officials said.

The two blasts took place near the African Union base in the area of the Mogadishu airport, Somali police chief Gen. Mohamed Sheikh Hassan said at a press conference.

Somalia’s Islamic extremist rebels, al-Shabaab, claimed responsibility for the bombings, according to the group’s Andalus radio station.

If anyone needed a reminder that America has a police brutality problem, the deaths of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile provided it. Actual numbers on violent police encounters are difficult to come by, but this dearth of data is getting more attention.

New research published in the British Medical Journal demonstrates the danger posed to citizens by the most routine police practice of a “legal stop.”   Continue reading “First of Its Kind Study Shows 55,400 People Hospitalized or Killed by US Cops in a Single Year”

Go Healthy Next – by Eileen Dufree, N.C.

Inflammation, stress, diabetes, and cancer – these are just some of the health conditions that are commonly found today.  Nearly everyone deals with variations of health issues during their lives, whether they are directly affected themselves, or know a friend or family member who suffers.  It does not help that humans continue to contaminate their insides with corrupted food sources. Many people want to try to eat healthy, but pesticides, parasites, bacteria and viruses found among fresh produce, for example, can make otherwise nutritious food harmful.  These contaminants need to be removed from food before human consumption if there is any hope to restore or maintain optimal health.    Continue reading “The common problem with low oxygen.”

Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.) sounded irate in a brief phone interview Monday afternoon with Right Turn. His subcommittee, with strong bipartisan support, has already passed legislation to hike military aid to Israel from $3.1 billion to $3.4 billion for 2017. But as has been reported in Israeli papers, the administration — with one more kick in Israel’s shins before President Obama leaves office — has told Israel there will be no increase this year or in a new 10-year memorandum of understanding (MOU). Moreover, the long-standing offshore procurement (OSP) agreement that allows Israel to purchase a significant percentage of its defense equipment from Israeli companies may get nixed or squeezed.   Continue reading “Sen. PHILADELPHIA — A new Clinton administration would pursue a bill to legalize illegal immigrants in “the first 100 days” of her tenure, vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine told Spanish-language network Telemundo in an interview Monday, presenting a deep contrast with Republicans.

Mr. Kaine also predicted that House Republicans, who stopped President Obama’s last bid for legalization in 2013, will reverse themselves next year and said House Speaker Paul D. Ryan will lead the GOP to embrace legalization.   Continue reading “Tim Kaine promises bill to legalize illegal immigrants in ‘first 100 days’”

A joint expedition by India and the U.S. discovered a major deposit of natural gas in the Indian Ocean, offering the potential to significantly expand energy production in a region that’s currently a big importer.

India’s Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas and the U.S. Geological Survey struck a large, highly enriched deposit of natural gas hydrate — an icy form of the fuel — in the Bay of Bengal off the country’s east coast, potentially the first producible reserve of its kind in the waters, the U.S. agency said in a statement Monday.   Continue reading “India, U.S. Discover Major Natural Gas Reserve in Indian Ocean”

Just days before a big race, an up-and-coming Nascar team suddenly found the crew chief’s laptop going haywire and all the team’s critical files locked up.

The team was the victim of a ransomware attack, a type of virus that locks up computer files until money is paid.

“A message popped up that said my files had all been encrypted. … The only way to get it back is to pay a ransom,” said Dave Winston, the crew chief for Circle Sport-Leavine Family Racing.
