Math is hard, even for Facebook. And it’s getting harder to trust Facebook’s math, even as the social network fine-tunes its calculations.

For the third time since September, Facebook is disclosing new measurement errors. The two new errors affected the reaction counts Facebook reports on Pages’ Live videos, as well as the engagement figures Facebook reports for off-Facebook links; the latter link engagement metrics were recently used in investigations by BuzzFeed and The New York Times into fake news articles’ performance on Facebook.   Continue reading “Facebook discloses new measurement errors, continues to hone its math”

The McCollum memo, also known as the Eight Action Memo was a memorandum, dated October 7, 1940 (more than a year before the Pearl Harbor attack), sent by Lieutenant Commander Arthur H. McCollum, who “provided the president with intelligence reports on [Japan]… [and oversaw] every intercepted and decoded Japanese military and diplomatic report destined for the White House”[1][unreliable source?] in his capacity as director of the Office of Naval Intelligence‘s Far East Asia section. It was sent to Navy Captains Dudley Knox, who agreed with the actions described within the memo, and Walter Stratton Anderson.   Continue reading “McCollum memo”

Megyn Kelly talked about the “de-legitimization” of the media” in an interview with NPR’s Terry Gross broadcasted Wednesday.

“I think it’s dangerous,” Kelly said. “People need good, strong, skeptical journalists to be covering whoever it is — whether it’s Barack Obama or President Donald Trump — and we’re in a dangerous phase right now, where too many millions of Americans aren’t listening at all to what the press tells them.”   Continue reading “Megyn Kelly: “Too Many Americans Aren’t Listening At All To What The Press Tells Them,” “Dangerous””

Donald Trump has offered Goldman Sachs executive Gary Cohn a key economic post, which would add to the administration another veteran of the powerful firm he bashed during his campaign, sources close to Cohn told NBC News.

Cohn, Goldman’s 56-year-old president and chief operating officer, has been offered the directorship of the National Economic Council and assistant to the president for economic policy, the sources said. It is unclear if Cohn will accept the post, but he reportedly had discussions late last month about leaving Goldman.

WEB Notes: The stock market has surged to new records highs. Why? Did the companies that make up the index suddenly become more valuable? Nope. Did they suddenly figure out a way to slash their budgets or make cheaper products? Nope. This is all based on emotion, or straight out and out manipulation of the market itself. Nothing has changed and I want to remind everyone on election night when the votes started to swing to trump the market dropped over 900 points. It would not only recover a few days later, but jump another 1000 points. This documents in of itself the power that is exerted over the stock markets. It is appearing more and more that trump’s administration will be blamed for the collapse that we have been anticipating for sometime now. We will have more to say on this subject in the near future.

Journalist Brian Williams has become the latest person to slam ‘fake news,’ claiming it influenced the US election. But there’s some irony in his apparent defense of quality journalism, as he was let go from his NBC gig last year for… reporting fake news.

“Fake news played a role in this election and continues to find a wide audience,” Williams said on MSNBC on Wednesday night.   Continue reading “Disgraced ex-NBC ‘fake news’ journalist Brian Williams on crusade against false reporting”

Since 2002, observes investigative author Trevor Aaronson in his deeply researched book The Terror Factory: Inside the FBI’s Manufactured War on Terrorism, the FBI has been spending roughly $3 billion a year “to hunt an enemy that is largely of its own creation.” The 30-year prison sentence imposed on a 22-year-old Ohio resident named Christopher Lee Cornell (not to be mistaken for that Chris Cornell) represents a typical return on that dubious investment.   Continue reading “The FBI Continues Its Winning Streak in Convicting Its Own “Terrorist” Patsies”

“There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it, because they will be distracted from any desire to rebel by propaganda or brainwashing, or brainwashing enhanced by pharmacological methods. And this seems to be the final revolution.”

Los Angeles, CA — The TSA are notorious for sexual assaults, groping children, forcing the elderly to remove clothing, humiliating those with special needs, and outright brutality. And, this latest case from Los Angeles International Airport, in which a mom battling breast cancer was humiliated and assaulted, further proves that notion.

This time, however, the TSA would attack the wrong person who knew her rights and knew the power of filming. Denise Albert is co-host on the Sirius XM Stars program, The Mom’s, who was traveling through LAX when she was targeted by TSA because her medical cream for her breast cancer treatment was ‘suspicious.’   Continue reading “Mom Battling Breast Cancer Humiliated by TSA Attempting ‘Aggressive Body Cavity Search in Public’”
