The United States in the last week has initiated Patriot missile sales to multiple East European and Baltic countries, as well as deployed the missile system in Lithuania for NATO war game exercises.

“Scares and speculations” surrounding Russian military drills are a smokescreen for NATO’s military buildup in Eastern Europe, where the alliance is effectively mastering a potential new battlefield, the Russian permanent representative to NATO says.
“We pointed out that while a lot of insinuations, completely unjustified from our point of view, are being spread around the Zapad-2017 drills, NATO’s funneling of arms and materiel into its eastern flank is going unnoticed,” Russia’s permanent representative to NATO, Aleksandr Grushko, told reporters following a meeting of the Russia-NATO council on Thursday. WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump’s top immigration official warned Hispanic members of Congress Wednesday that over a million people living in the United States under a special protected status could soon be placed in line for deportation.
Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly told members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus that the fate of deferred action program known as DACA — Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals — will likely be determined by the courts, perhaps as soon as September, and that attorneys he’s consulted with do not think the program is legally sustainable. Kelly also would not commit to extending temporary protected status, or TPS, for nationals from Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua and four other countries, but indicated that TPS for Haitians will likely end.

A transgender inmate at Lackawanna County Prison will resume hormone therapy treatment after a federal judge denied a motion that challenged an order mandating the medications.

Dr. John Lunetta’s neighbors called police Monday morning to request a welfare check on Lunetta, 40, his wife, Karen Michelle Jackson, 35, and their baby after saying the Las Vegas residence had been eerily quiet over the weekend. Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder signed several bills into law Tuesday, increasing the penalties for female genital mutilation.
Of the 13 bills he signed into law, one of the bills he signed would classify female genital mutilation (FGM) in Michigan as a felony that carries a penalty of up to 15 years behind bars, the Detroit Free Press reported. Since at least 1998, a former prosecutor and Deputy Attorney General turned professor has been claiming that the Miranda warning, handcuffs the police. In 1998 University of Utah Professor Paul Cassell wrote a report titled, “Handcuffing the Cops: Miranda’s Harmful Effects on Law Enforcement”.

The US State Department has approved a potential foreign military sale for Patriot air defense systems, as well as supporting equipment and training to Romania, a Pentagon agency announced.
The possible sale of seven Patriot Configuration-3+ Modernized Fire Units, which include seven radar sets, 28 launching stations, and over 200 different type missiles among other equipment, was made public by the US Defense Security Cooperation Agency this week. David Wildstein, a former ally and high school classmate of New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, was sentenced to three years of probation on Wednesday for his involvement in a 2013 political scheme to shut down lanes on the George Washington Bridge, later dubbed “Bridgegate.” Wildstein pleaded guilty in May 2015 to one charge of conspiracy to commit fraud on federally funded property and one civil rights violation. Under the plea agreement, he faced 21 to 27 months in prison. In addition to serving probation, Wildstein has been barred from working in government and will be required to perform 500 hours of community service.
