A parasitic sickness known as “kissing bug” disease is spreading quickly in the United States. So far, about 300,000 have been infected in the U.S. with the disease that could be life-threatening.
Blood-sucking bugs are spreading a dangerous parasite. Kissing bugs spread the infection by biting a human, typically on their face (hence the nickname – kissing bugs), and then defecating near the wound. The parasite can then get rubbed into the open wound or get into the body if someone touches their mouth or eyes afterward. This week, it was announced that a startup called Compass Pathways has received approval from The Food and Drug Administration to develop treatments for depression, and possibly even pharmaceuticals, with psilocybin, the active ingredient in psychedelic “magic mushrooms.”
Compass Pathways launched in the UK in 2016, thanks to funding from Peter Thiel. While the company is just now receiving approval to run trials in the US, they were already approved in Canada, the Netherlands and their base of operations in the UK. WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The United States and Mexico agreed on Monday to overhaul the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), putting pressure on Canada to agree to the new terms on auto trade and other issues to remain part of the three-nation pact.
U.S. President Donald Trump and outgoing Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto said talks with Canada would begin immediately, though Trump threatened he could put tariffs on Canadian-made cars if a three-way deal could not be reached. An embarrassing scandal has hit Paraguayan police after it emerged that 42 rifles held in storage were actually toys. Officers have also ‘lost’ some 90 handguns since the start of the year, it emerged.
The rifle issue came to light last week, when the police admitted that at least 42 FN FAL rifles went missing from its armory in the city of Capiatá. The rifles has been held in storage as they were replaced with new models of smaller caliber. The stolen weapons were still operational. Washington (GPA) – Earlier this week notorious war hawk US Senator John McCain (R-Az) died from brain cancer. While the liberal and conservative establishments are sending their regards, Geopolitics Alert instead compiled a list of reasons why we don’t care about McCain.

A world-famous doctor who offered her naturopathic services for free was forced to close her clinic after the Philippine equivalent of the FDA went after her and she received a wave of death threats.
Dr. Farrah Agustin-Bunch went to a conventional medical school, but the fact that doctors are encouraged to prescribe treatments to patients that haven’t been scientifically proven to be safe and effective made her uneasy and ultimately pushed her toward naturopathy. Her late father was the famous herbalist sir Antonio Augustin, who established the first natural cancer treatment center in the Philippines in 2000. COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — A police dog handler has been suspended without pay for five days but won’t face criminal charges after his dog was left in a police vehicle for more than six hours and died from the South Carolina heat, Columbia Police Chief Skip Holbrook said.
Master Police Officer David Hurt had the air conditioning on, but for some unexplained reason turned off a heat alarm and left his windows open July 26. Hurt failed to even come to his vehicle to let the Labrador retriever mix named “Turbo” use the bathroom — behavior that shocked seasoned dog handlers, Holbrook said. LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Scottsburg High School senior faces an intimidation charge and may be expelled after posting video of an augmented reality game in which players shoot zombies in real-time settings.
Sean Small, an 18-year-old senior, was arrested at the school Tuesday after a female student complained to Principal Ric Manns that she was concerned after seeing video of Small playing The Walking Dead: Our World at school, with the game’s shooter and zombies visible in a hallway.

A board member at the University of North Carolina is calling for a Confederate statue to be promptly reinstalled on the Chapel Hill campus after it was toppled by protesters earlier this month.
Citing state law on monuments and memorials, UNC Board of Governors member Thom Goolsby said in a YouTube video that the well-known “Silent Sam” monument will be placed back on campus within 90 days. The horrible shooting in Jacksonville, Florida, occurred at Jacksonville Landing, a gun-free mall.
Breitbart News reported that gunfire erupted at a Madden Tournament in Jacksonville, leaving multiple wounded, multiple dead. Alex Jones is a tool, and he always has been, but once he became the poster boy for disinformation, his usefulness began to dry up. The Sandy Hook lawsuit is a huge blow to the credibility of the entire truth movement, and this entire debacle involving him being banned from social media will bring the formerly unmentionable topic of censorship into public debate for the sole purpose of curtailing your right to free speech.
After several senators shovel a mountain of dung that attempts to explain why your speech needs to be regulated for your own good, laws will be passed, and some things you might want to say could get you arrested. Of course, you can’t let this silence you. Your unalienable right to free speech is enshrined in the Bill of Rights, and the restoration of these rights is at the heart of this struggle. At least four people were dead and 11 others were being treated after a “mass shooting” on Sunday in downtown Jacksonville, Fla., during a gaming event at a popular shopping center filled with bars and restaurants, law enforcement sources told Fox News on Sunday.
The gunfire was heard around 1 p.m ET at a video gaming event held at Jacksonville Landing, Madden NFL Championship Series.
