Americans overwhelmingly reject laws designed to penalize supporters of BDS – the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement for Palestinian rights, according to a new poll.

A group of registered sex offenders in Georgia are suing the Butts County Sheriff’s Office for placing “No Trick-or-Treat” signs on their lawns without their consent.
The lawsuit — filed in the U.S. District Court in Macon — is asking for the court to stop the sheriff’s office from placing signs that read,“NO TRICK-OR-TREAT AT THIS ADDRESS!! A COMMUNITY SAFETY MESSAGE FROM BUTTS COUNTY SHERIFF GARY LONG,” on their yards, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported. On Thursday a car bomb detonated in the town of Tal Abyad, wounding several Turkish-backed Syrian fighters outside their militia headquarters, following at least three other similar blasts this week, which targeted various groups fighting in northeast Syria.
The AP reports “There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the bombing” and confirmed that “Similar bombings have taken place in the past in another enclave held for several years by Turkey and its Syrian allies on the northwest part of the border.” Multiple civilian casualties have been reported in each case. GRAYS, England (Reuters) – Police were given extra time on Thursday to question a driver arrested on suspicion of murder after 39 people, believed to be Chinese nationals, were found dead in a refrigerated truck near London, in an investigation focused on human trafficking.
Officers searched three properties in the County Armagh area of Northern Ireland. The driver has not been formally identified but a source familiar with the investigation said he was Mo Robinson from the Portadown area of the British province. A majority of Americans believe the First Amendment should be rewritten and are willing to crack down on free speech, as well as the press, according to a new poll.
More than 60 percent of Americans agree on restricting speech in some way, while a slim majority, 51 percent, want to see the First Amendment rewritten to “reflect the cultural norms of today.” The Campaign for Free Speech, which conducted the survey, said the results “indicate free speech is under more threat than previously believed.” Continue reading “Poll: Majority of Americans Want First Amendment Rewritten”

I have never been so upset by a poll in my life. Only 22% of Americans now believe “the movie and television industries are pretty much run by Jews,” down from nearly 50% in 1964. The Anti-Defamation League, which released the poll results last month, sees in these numbers a victory against stereotyping. Actually, it just shows how dumb America has gotten. Catherine Austin Fitts was the managing partner at Dillon Read Investment Bank when she quit her job to serve as Assistant Secretary of Housing in the first Bush administration. Once she went to San Diego where she found that HUD (Housing and Urban Development) had made $20 million in loan guarantees on apartment buildings that did not exist. They did not even have postal addresses. She had to fight the bureaucracy for months to get a look at the books. DUBLIN, Va. (AP) — A Volvo plant in Virginia has temporarily laid off about 3,000 workers because thousands of Mack Truck workers are on strike.

The Kansas City-area’s manufacturing industry has faced a slate of layoffs this year from employers such as Harley-Davidson, Nestlé USA, Pepsi and Haldex Brake Products Corp.
