I had reached out to several news outlets trying to seek assistance with the ridiculous “administrative fees” that I was being charged by NJ EZ-Pass on behalf of the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission.

Only one returned my e-mail, Karin Price Mueller from NJAdvanceMedia.com. She inquired about why I was charged these fees when 79,000 other people on the NJ Turnpike never received their first notices and were being wrongfully charged similar late fees (they have all since been waived and/or refunded). The Fort Hood military base in Texas has come under extreme scrutiny in recent months, as numerous dead soldiers were found on or around the base. This week, the base was in the news again after two Fort Hood soldiers were caught up in a child trafficking bust. The soldiers were among nine Texas residents who were arrested during a two-day child sex trafficking sting in Killeen, the city where the base is located.

“The overall goal of this joint effort was to locate and arrest subjects who were willing to make overt efforts to pay minors to engage in sexual acts,” police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said, according to KWTX. North Carolina police have charged a neighbor with the murder of a five-year-old boy who was riding a bike in his own yard when he was shot at point blank range on Sunday evening.

The USDA data showed that in March 2020, the month the pandemic hit the U.S., 37,140,169 individuals were receiving food stamps. The state of the New York City restaurant industry is in dire straits. July proved to be another disastrous month for restaurants, bars, and nightlife establishments across the city with a majority unable to pay rent in July, a new survey found.
