North Korean dictator Kim Kong-un has ordered citizens to hand over their pet dogs — so they can be killed for food.

The hermit state says pet dogs are now considered a “decadent” luxury and “a ‘tainted’ trend by bourgeois ideology,” and must be surrendered, according to a report by South Korea’s Chosun Ilbo media outlet.  Continue reading “Kim Jong-un orders North Koreans to hand over pet dogs — so they can be used as meat”

Chicago taxpayers spent $66 million renovating a convention center into an emergency coronavirus hospital that ended up only treating 38 patients. Further, the contract to renovate the facility went to a politically connected company instead of one that said it would waive fees or donate such money to coronavirus relief organizations.  Continue reading “Chicago Spent $66 Million On A Coronavirus Facility That Treated 38 Patients—Total”

WASHINGTON (AP) — A former CIA officer and contract linguist for the FBI has been charged with spying for China, including by disclosing tradecraft and information on sources to Chinese intelligence officers who had co-opted him, according to documents unsealed Monday.

A clash between Syrian forces and U.S. troops reportedly left at least one Syrian dead on Monday — a rare fatal confrontation on a battlefield confused by a surplus of foreign intervening forces in the protracted civil war. The U.S.-led military coalition in Syria denied reports that an American service member was wounded in the incident near a Syrian air base, and that the coalition had carried out an airstrike during the clash.

An independent war monitoring organization and Syrian state media spoke only of Syrian casualties. Continue reading “Deadly clash reported between U.S. and Syrian forces”
