A San Francisco federal jury unanimously agreed on Tuesday that Roundup caused a man’s cancer — a potentially massive blow to the company that produces the glyphosate-based herbicide currently facing hundreds of similar lawsuits.

We are told by the legal profession that nothing can be done to block bogus asylum-seekers from entering our country en masse, obtaining catch-and-release, and remaining here pending the outcome of a court decision that may be years in coming. But why is the DHS not at least deporting those who already went through this tedious process and have been ordered to be deported? Doing so would not only help eliminate public charge and potential gang members and drug runners for MS-13, it would deter the current and future wave waiting at the “conveyor belt” through Mexico from making the trip north. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court ruled against immigrants who argued that even if they had committed crimes that made them deportable, the Department of Homeland Security could take them into immigration custody to decide what to do with them after they’ve finished their sentences after more than roughly one day has gone by since their release.

More than one million people have signed a petition demanding controversial Australian Senator Fraser Anning be removed from parliament.
The petition follows outrage throughout Australia and the world after the independent Queensland senator blamed Islamic immigration for Friday’s Christchurch mosque shooting shortly after the attack had taken place. Global Actions Follow Record Turnout at Palestinian National BDS Conference
The 15th annual Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW), the largest global boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) mobilization for Palestinian rights, opens today with more than 80 events in 40 cities across Europe, North America and Palestine, featuring protests, lectures, film screenings, and cultural events. IAW is expected to be held in more than 200 cities worldwide. IAW officially kicked off Saturday the 16th in the occupied Palestinian city of Al-Bireh, where the Palestinian BDS National Committee (BNC) convened the Sixth National BDS Conference – a grassroots, civil society gathering with over 900 participants. With everyone still reeling at the announcement of the $750 billion proposed military budget for 2020, a huge increase, the Trump Administration is now offering a proposed spying budget that is similarly looking for a substantial increase over the previous year.

Chesapeake, VA — A mother is grieving and also crying foul after police say her 19-year-old daughter killed herself during a routine traffic stop. According to the mother, police told her that her daughter was handcuffed when she somehow got a gun and shot herself. Now, after “investigating themselves” police have officially closed the case despite witnesses and a video telling a different story.
Sarah Wilson committed suicide on July 25, 2018, during a traffic stop near the intersection of Berkley Avenue and Wilson Road, according to the Chesapeake Police Department. According to police, while handcuffed with her hands behind her back, Wilson was able to acquire a gun, place it in her mouth, and pull the trigger. JUNEAU — The Alaska Permanent Fund has surpassed the oil industry and all other taxes combined as the cornerstone of the state budget, according to an updated forecast from the Alaska Department of Revenue.
According to the figures released Friday and presented Monday to the Senate Finance Committee, the Permanent Fund will deliver $2.7 billion to the state treasury this fiscal year. The oil industry will pay $2.1 billion in taxes and royalties. The state will collect another $548 million in other revenue, according to the latest forecast.

Two Rivers musher Richie Beattie said he thought his 5-year-old sled dog named Oshi was just tired on Thursday on the way to the Iditarod finish line in Nome. Two days later, Oshi died.
“We’re devastated,” Beattie said in an interview on Monday. “Losing her is no different than losing a family member.”

“In too much of policing today, officer safety has become the highest priority. It trumps the rights and safety of suspects. It trumps the rights and safety of bystanders. It’s so important, in fact, that an officer’s subjective fear of a minor wound from a dog bite is enough to justify using potentially lethal force, in this case at the expense of a 4-year-old girl. And this isn’t the first time. In January, an Iowa cop shot and killed a woman by mistake while trying to kill her dog. Other cops have shot other kids, other bystanders, their partners, their supervisors and even themselves while firing their guns at a dog. AUGUSTA (WGME) — Gun control advocates along with law enforcement officials and medical professionals will hold a news conference Tuesday afternoon in Augusta to urge Maine lawmakers to pass a “red flag bill” this session.
