The National Institute of Health (NIH) is building a 1 million person DNA database of immigrant children, prisoners and adults, claiming that it will help them study diseases.

NIH’s “All of Us Research Program” (AoURP) will make corporate DNA databases look like a drop in the bucket.   Continue reading “Will NIH’s 1 million person DNA database of immigrant children, prisoners and adults be a law enforcement goldmine?”

A fight broke out among a group of teens at a Washington state fair over the weekend. When some officers of the Yakima Police Department arrived, the teens quickly scattered. Those who remained in the area got pepper-sprayed by the police. While one 17-year-old boy held his eyes, presumably in response to the pepper spray, Officer Ian Cole kicked him in the back, causing him to stumble to the ground.   Continue reading “Cop Kicks Teen Who Had Already Been Pepper-Sprayed”

Back in March, when looking at the latest political wave sweeping across Europe, Deutsche Bank’s Jim Reid wrote a report which observed that “it’s hard to get away from the fact that populism is currently going through an explosion in support at present” of which today’s vote of no confidence of Swedish prime minister Lofven was just the latest example. DB focused on Europe, as shown in the following chart, and noted that high double-digit youth unemployment has become a hotbed for anti-establishment sentiment, which has everything to do with the economy, and lack of opportunities.    Continue reading “Wealth Of Top 1% Surpasses $100 Trillion: More Than Global GDP And All Central Bank Balance Sheets”

The FBI uses the “no fly” list as leverage. What should be used to keep threats to national security off airplanes is being used to turn people into informants. If someone travels to a country the US government views with suspicion, citizens and legal residents are often approached by FBI agents who use the threat of revoking flying privileges to obtain new info sources.

DOJ policy expressly forbids this sort of behavior, but the FBI doesn’t care. It tells the CBP to keep an eye on travelers who visit or originate from certain countries, accost them in the airport, and subject them to invasive searches/interrogations with an eye on converting them to unofficial G-men.   Continue reading “Court Won’t Let FBI Dodge Lawsuit By Removing American Citizen From No-Fly List Shortly After Being Sued”
