A top Israeli general tasked with writing his country’s defense policy has admitted that Israel cannot take on Iran’s military alone if the day should come that the regional powers face off in a direct military confrontation, Defense News reports.

“We cannot fight Iran alone,” Maj. Gen. Yair Golan, a former IDF deputy chief of staff and a candidate to become the next Israel Defense Forces chief of staff, told a think tank gathering on September 7. “They can affect us; we can affect them. It’s all about attrition. But if you want to gain something which is deeper, we cannot do it alone. This is a fact of life. Walt Disney World in Florida has been accused of price-gouging for charging guests high prices while they were stuck in their hotels during Hurricane Irma.

Jennifer Bruns from Northbrook, Illinois, lashed out at the owners of the Orlando entertainment complex, whose sister park in California is known as the ‘happiest place on earth’, for selling expensive drinks and snacks to stranded people.

Senior Canadian police officials told MPs studying the government’s marijuana legalization legislation that police won’t be ready to enforce new laws by next summer, and they are now asking the government for more time.

The government has vowed to legalize the drug by July 1, 2018, and introduced a bill in the House of Commons last spring to do just that.

Syria’s military have liberated around 85 percent of the country’s territory from the control of insurgent terrorists, according to the latest statement by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and GOP members of the Budget Committee are meeting Tuesday with two top Trump administration officials to plot breaking the budget stalemate. Lack of a budget plan for the 2018 fiscal year starting Oct. 1 is a roadblock to the must-do legislation overhauling the tax system that Republicans and President Donald Trump have made their highest priority. BEDFORD, Va. (AP) — A 60-year-old man who pleaded guilty in the killing of two young sisters from Maryland was sentenced Tuesday to 48 years in prison, more than four decades after the girls vanished during a trip to a local shopping mall.’

Lloyd Lee Welch Jr. entered his plea in a Virginia court Tuesday and was sentenced soon after to two 48-year terms to run concurrently. The first-degree felony murder charges had carried the possibility of a death sentence. PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The engineer in a deadly Amtrak derailment is due in court for a preliminary hearing to determine if he’ll face trial on criminal charges that were filed only after a victim’s family intervened and a judge overruled city prosecutors.

Engineer Brandon Bostian’s lawyers want the case dismissed. Maryland Congressman Anthony Brown announced last week a bill he plans to introduce that, if enacted, would seek to curb hate speech in higher education.

Almost ten days have passed since the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the allied forces managed to break the siege on Deir Ezzor city, which was maintained by terrorists since 2014. This date undoubtedly will be incorporated into school textbooks and immortalized forever for all the Syrians.

Unfortunately, besides the true allies of the Syrian government, neither Western states nor human rights organization has offered assistance to the residents of the liberated city. PUYALLUP, Wash. – A woman thought to be holding a gun during what turned out to be a false “active shooter” alarm at a behavior health clinic in Puyallup was in fact calling 911 to report the alarm, police said.

The Indiana Court of Appeals decided Thursday that police officers can pull over motorists for having expired tags before their registrations actually expire. Indiana registrations lapse at midnight on a day determined by the owner’s last name, but an Indianapolis police officer decided to test the limits on October 21, 2015 by pulling over a car before midnight.

Officer Cameron Taylor says that he saw a car, ran its plate, and the computer said the plate was “expired,” though the date of expiration was October 21. During the ensuing stop, Officer Taylor asked the passenger, Kevin L. Dowdy, now 32, to show identification. Although he did not need to do so, Dowdy gave his name and birthdate. When the officer looked it up, he found that Dowdy had an outstanding warrant for driving on a suspended license. A report by internet security experts, Symantec, says that a hacking group called Dragonfly 2.0 has gained access to 20 power company networks. The American power grid has been hacked, but for some reason, the culprits restrained themselves from taking down the power like they did in Ukraine recently.

The targets were in the United States, Turkey, and Switzerland.
