In the Arkansas case, the cops didn’t trigger Echo to listen. But they want to know what it might have picked up.
They showed up after a resident, James A. Bates, called 911 and said that he’d awakened after a night of drinking and found the body of his friend Victor Collins floating in the backyard hot tub. Police ultimately launched a homicide investigation and suspected some clues might have been inadvertently gathered by the “Internet of things” — gadgets such as a Nest smart thermostat, a smart water meter, a Honeywell alarm system and Bates’ Amazon Echo. WEB Notes: In the two videos below CBS Ben Swann explains the truth about what is transpiring in Syria. Truth we have been telling for some time now. Why are they allowing him to tell truth on the mainstream airwaves is the real question? No one sneaks in any information on the mainstream, it is all pre-approved before broadcasting. This reminds me of Glenn Beck and his days with Fox News before they cut him loose. Continue reading “The Truth About Syria From The Mainstream Media”
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans says there is nothing out of the ordinary with the environment near where thousands of sea creatures washed up near Digby, N.S.
The distressing amount of sea life and diversity of species found dead on some beaches along the Bay of Fundy over the past few weeks has been puzzling. So far, tests haven’t revealed what’s killing the sea life. Continue reading “Nothing amiss in environment where scores of sea creatures washed up dead”
Europeans must have been delighted to discover that one thing is working as well as it has since the start of the Great Recession. Behemoth banks that are failing are still able to pay their Christmas bonuses to their top executives and give nice dividends to their shareholders thanks to Super Mario Draghi.
Keeping up the tradition of central bankers looking out for other bankers, Mario Draghi, chief of the European Central Bank “agreed to lower the minimum capital requirements for Deutsche Bank on Tuesday, ‘giving the lender more leeway to structure bonus payments and dividends.’” (Zero Hedge). It appears the U.S. has been set-up by our own government to be attacked. All 10 U.S. Navy Aircraft Carriers are “in-port” for the next week! NO CARRIER is operating anywhere in the world! We’re sitting ducks.
For the next week, not only will there be no U.S. Navy aircraft carrier in the Middle East, but there will be no American aircraft carriers deployed at sea anywhere else in the world, despite a host of worldwide threats facing the United States. Mangling facts for the benefit of U.S. government’s anti-Russia, anti-Trump propaganda campaign, yet again corporate media published an article — which subsequently went viral — claiming that, in an interview, Julian Assange ‘praised’ Donald Trump but ‘blasted’ Hillary Clinton because, essentially, he’s working for The Russians.
It simply isn’t true. Continue reading “Corporate Media Admits to Publishing Viral Fake News After Independent Media Busted Them”

Cannelton, IN – Volunteer Fire Chief Christopher Herzog was recently arrested for attempting to prevent a police officer from making a fire worse. However, the police version of the story makes it sound like Herzog was some crazed assailant attacking heroes. Now, the firefighter is facing a felony.
When kindergartners are taught to “stop drop and roll,” they are also taught that fire feeds on oxygen and that sometimes a suddenly opened door or window could cause a fire. Unfortunately, Cannelton police officer Ryen Foertsch did not get the memo. Continue reading “Fire Chief Arrested For Preventing A Cop From Making A Fire Worse — House Burns as a Result”

Our food supply is being compromised and bastardized by corporations who profit handsomely by feeding the American public ever-more processed, modified, and chemical-laden foods. As if this were some kind of revolving door conspiracy, when food makes us sick, we spend more money on healthcare, and a look at the most prescribed medications of 2016 make it clear there is a direct link between poor food and poor health in America.
The 2016 list of the 50 most prescribed medications in America, as reported by Lowest Med, includes among the top ten, nine medications used to address health problems that can be primarily associated with an unhealthy diet. NEW HAVEN, Conn. — In cities across the country, parking-style meters collect loose change from donors in an attempt to cut down on panhandling – a strategy critics argue is wrongheaded and in vain.
New Haven is among the latest to install the meters, which sit curbside and collect donations in the form of cash or credit cards for programs that benefit the homeless. The city has four brightly colored meters in areas where panhandling has been a problem and plans to install six more to support local, nonprofit organizations that help the homeless. House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., thinks the Obama administration was justified in retaliating Thursday against Russia with sanctions for interfering with U.S. institutions. But he said it should’ve been done long ago.
Far from a full-throated endorsement of Obama’s actions, Ryan’s statement condemned the commander in chief for eight years of what he considers “ineffective foreign policy” that left the United States more vulnerable than it was when he took office in 2009. Nevertheless, Ryan agreed that Russia is a threat to global security. Continue reading “Paul Ryan welcomes Obama’s ‘overdue’ Russia retaliation”
