Refugee Resettlement Watch – by Ann Corcoran

“Hundreds?” Well, how could that be I wondered, since we are constantly reminded that the unwelcoming US has only admitted a hundred or so Syrian refugees.  It turns out that “hundreds” of those being granted ‘temporary protected status‘ are choosing to go to established Syrian communities, like those in North Jersey, to be with their people.

I continually find it amusing that no one ever questions the desire of ‘immigrants’ to congregate with their ethnic and religious groups in certain sections of cities or states, yet if any people of European background (you or me) would say I want to live with my kind of people we would be excoriated by the diversity-is-beautiful crowd as racist, rednecked boobs!  But, I digress.   Continue reading “Syrians by the “hundreds” arriving in North Jersey, thousands more expected in 2015 and 2016”

I live where they switch between winter gas (Benzine, short molecule chains) and summer gas (pure, long molecule chains).

  1. Which is the best season to buy/rotate my gas supply for storage?
  2. Also, under normal circumstances premium octane is a waist of money or even bad for my machines, but is it better for storage?   Continue reading “Letter: Buying Gas for Storage”

Zero Hedge – by Tyler Durden

“If Ukraine breaks apart, it will trigger a war,” warns a senior Russian government official. The FT reports Russia is prepared to fight a war over the Ukrainian territory of Crimea (where the largest ethnic Russian population lives and they have a military base). Conjuring images of the 2008 Russian invasion of Georgia, the official told the FT, “they will lose Crimea first [because] we will go in and protect [it], just as we did in Georgia.” The Kremlin regards the Georgian conflict as the biggest stand-off between Russia and the west since the end of the Cold War and it has fed determination in Moscow to push back against what it believes to be western attempts to contain Russia.   Continue reading “Russia Prepared To Fight War Over Ukraine, Senior Government Official Admits”

Handgun AmmoAmmoLand – by Dan Griffin

Michigan –-(Ammoland.com)-  When I get down to 1,000 rounds of any caliber, I consider myself out of ammo for that caliber.

However, that’s not what I’m talking about here. When carrying a gun for self-defense, how much ammo should you carry on you? How much is enough? How much is too much?   Continue reading “Ammo: How Much Is Enough When Carrying for Self Defense?”

Not only is Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide (also known as glyphosate) causing cancer, birth defects, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s disease and more, (read more about that here) it could also be shrinking the population of the North American monarch butterfly.

The World Wildlife fund announced that last year’s migration from Canada, to the United States and down to Mexico was the lowest it’s ever been since scientists began tracking them over twenty years ago. (1) In fact, a 43 percent drop has been measured compared to last year, that’s huge and very concerning.   Continue reading “Not Just Bees: Disappearence of Monarch Butterflies Linked To Monsanto’s Roundup Herbicide”

The First Amendment says “Congress shall make no law…abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press…” But under the Obama administration, the Federal Communications Commission is planning to send government contractors into the nation’s newsrooms to determine whether journalists are producing articles, television reports, Internet content, and commentary that meets the public’s “critical information needs.” Those “needs” will be defined by the administration, and news outlets that do not comply with the government’s standards could face an uncertain future. It’s hard to imagine a project more at odds with the First Amendment.   Continue reading “New Obama initiative tramples First Amendment protections”

Anti-War – by John Pilger

Fifty years ago, E.P. Thompson’s The Making of the English Working Class rescued the study of history from the powerful. Kings and queens, landowners, industrialists, politicians and imperialists had owned much of the public memory. In 1980, Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States also demonstrated that the freedoms and rights we enjoy precariously – free expression, free association, the jury system, the rights of minorities – were the achievements of ordinary people, not the gift of elites.   Continue reading “‘Good’ War, ‘Bad’ War”

Trail - Photo by Ws47The Economic Collapse – by Michael Snyder

What are we to make of this sudden rash of banker suicides?  Does this trail of dead bankers lead somewhere?  Or could it be just a coincidence that so many bankers have died in such close proximity?  I will be perfectly honest and admit that I do not know what is going on.  But there are some common themes that seem to link at least some of these deaths together.  First of all, most of these men were in good health and in their prime working years.  Secondly, most of these “suicides” seem to have come out of nowhere and were a total surprise to their families.  Thirdly, three of the dead bankers worked for JP Morgan.  Fourthly, several of these individuals were either involved in foreign exchange trading or the trading of derivatives in some way.  So when “a foreign exchange trader” jumped to his death from the top of JP Morgan’s Hong Kong headquarters this morning, that definitely raised my eyebrows.  These dead bankers are starting to pile up, and something definitely stinks about this whole thing.   Continue reading “Does The Trail Of Dead Bankers Lead Somewhere?”
