Gov Slaves – by David Gumpert

This would seem to embody the USDA’s advisory, “Know your farmer, know your food,” right? Not exactly.

For the USDA and its sister food regulator, the FDA, there’s a problem: many of the farmers are distributing the food via private contracts like herd shares and leasing arrangements, which fall outside the regulatory system of state and local retail licenses and inspections that govern public food sales.   Continue reading “Farmers To Face Fines Or Prison Sentences For Selling Food Directly To Customers”

Economic Policy Journal – by Robert Wenzel

Last night, I hit the streets of San Francisco and stopped off at a few favorite watering holes, looking for interesting women and/or interesting conversation. The female crowd was a bit weak. I suspect many had headed off to Halloween parties, something I don’t do. But I did have an interesting conversation with a salesman who sold night vision goggles to police SWAT teams.

When he told me what he sold, I did not tell him of my libertarian leanings. I considered it more of a fact finding conversation. I asked him, if he felt the police were becoming more militarized. He said,”No.” He was in San Francisco for a SWAT Team conference.  He said most of the training was aimed at battling terrorism. But then he added, “You know, the greater San Francisco area has more SWAT teams than any other part of the country.”   Continue reading “San Francisco Area SWAT Teams and Stone Cold Israeli Killers”

Zero Gov – by Bill

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?… The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin’s thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt! If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.”   Continue reading “Sadism and Statism: Rhyming With The Reaper by Bill Buppert”

Most of the questions from people who do not know too much about war is about fighting and shooting of course, man to man fighting.

Some of the worst expiriences are from street fighting with stable (more or less) lines of separation between enemy groups. Fighting where there is no real chain of command, real information on positions of enemy, or even real information on positions of your comrades. Not to talk about some kind of support, like logistic, or artillery or air back up.   Continue reading “The Power of Fear”

SHTF School – by Selco

When SHTF nobody told me how hard is gonna be and what things I will have to do to survive, there was no training or simulations, through most of the stuff I was going for the first time in my life, and I was hoping it is only temporary situation, it is not going to last for whole year.

Few events opened my eyes, and somehow make me survivor right at the beginning, and I can say I have luck to understand in very early stage how hard it is, and what it takes.   Continue reading “The reality of combat”

100,000 people in a town called Tecoma, in Victoria, Australia, are fighting a battle to keep McDonald’s away from their town, where McDonald’s wants one of its junkstores to be built near the school, naturally, because when you push food that addicts people like drugs do, you want to be where you can create customers for life. WASHINGTON — The US military has invested billions in blimp-like aircraft to track militants planting roadside bombs but the spyship experiment is losing altitude because of technical failures and changing priorities.

The lighter-than-air projects were billed as an innovative revival of an old aircraft design to conduct “unblinking” surveillance on the battlefield — at a fraction of the cost of fuel-guzzling planes or helicopters.   Continue reading “US Military’s Airship Programs Lose Altitude”
