Saving General Motors from bankruptcy was among President Obama’s most frequently cited achievements when he ran for re-election last year. Democrats everywhere touted the company’s revival as proof of the 2009 bailout’s wisdom. That was then. Now, Obama has quietly released the auto manufacturer from a bailout requirement that it increase its production in the U.S. Instead, GM is spending billions of dollars building up its production capacity in … China.   Continue reading “GM got bailout, now ships jobs to China”

Old Thinker News – by Daniel Taylor

“The stream will not permanently rise higher than the main source; and the main source of national power and national greatness is found in the average citizenship of the nation.” – Theodore Roosevelt

What should be expected of a citizen in a Democratic Republic? President Theodore Roosevelt delivered a timeless 1910 speech that sought to answer this question. Regardless of his politics, Roosevelt spoke undying truth in this speech. His words are shockingly relevant to our society today. As Roosevelt rightly stated; We – if our spirits are right – are the waters from which liberty and prosperity flow. Today, we must acknowledge that the waters have been poisoned; Poisoned by the natural tendencies of history, and by individuals seeking to push our society in a direction diametrically opposed to what our ancestors intended.   Continue reading “America’s Greatness Rises and Falls With the Character of Her People”

It was an innocuous e-mail, one of millions sent every day by spouses with updates on the situation at home. But this one was of particular interest to the National Security Agency and contained clues that put the sender’s husband in the crosshairs of a CIA drone.

Days later, Hassan Ghul — an associate of Osama bin Laden who provided a critical piece of intelligence that helped the CIA find the al-Qaeda leader — was killed by a drone strike in Pakistan’s tribal belt.   Continue reading “Documents Reveal NSA’s Extensive Involvement In Targeted Killing Program – Extrajudicial Murder”

Washington, D.C. – The complex negotiations aimed at bringing a long-term solution to the federal government’s expenditure and debt problem have produced an unconventional proposal. “Although the solution only focuses on a tiny fraction of government expenditures,” declared President Barack Obama, “it is a step in the right direction.”

“Moreover,” he added, “it will show the American people that what’s good for them is good for us, too.”   Continue reading “Mobile Gun-Free Zones Are Coming to America”

The Obama administration has been caught red-handed engaged in software piracy. Computer code used on Healthcare.gov was stolen (and then modified in an effort to conceal the theft) from a UK company called Spry Media.

To my best knowledge, this story was broken by WeeklyStandard.com in a blog authored by Jeryl Bier.   Continue reading “Obama administration caught in blatant software piracy; script powering Healthcare.gov ripped off from UK company”

Market Watch – by Brett Arends

Next year’s midterm elections for Congress are now a tossup between the Republicans and the Democrats, according to the betting at the Iowa Electronic Markets — the only sportsbook in America allowed to bet on U.S. elections.

Nancy Pelosi’s chances of leading the Democrats to a House majority have more than doubled in less than a month to about 50% as a result of the government-shutdown fiasco, according to betting on the exchange.   Continue reading “Bettors’ verdict: GOP could lose the House”

Just two weeks after the Feds shuttered the Silk Road, the notorious online drug bazaar, bitcoin prices have touched a five-month high—with a single bitcoin fetching nearly $156 each on Tokyo-based exchange Mt. Gox.

Bitcoin’s resiliency can no longer be denied, especially as the digital currency continued its ascendancy even against the backdrop of a US government in utter disarray. At the 11th hour of the crisis, President Obama signed a bill that ended the partial government shutdown and, more importantly, raised the debt ceiling, an arbitrary limit on the amount of money the country can borrow that would have been surpassed today. Meet the Honor Student Who Was Punished for Giving a Drunk Friend a RideCare 2 – by Judy Molland

When Massachusetts high school senior Erin Cox went to pick up a drunk classmate from a party, she thought she was doing the right thing. However, administrators at North Andover High School seem to disagree. They are punishing her for her action, citing the school’s zero tolerance policy on drugs and alcohol.

We teach our kids to be responsible and to help others in need. That’s exactly what the 17-year-old was doing when she showed up to help her friend, but her school decided to punish her even though she was doing what any good parent or teacher would encourage her to do.   Continue reading “Meet the Honor Student Who Was Punished for Giving a Drunk Friend a Ride”

Zero Hedge – by Christian Gustafson of Deflation Land

For the past 300 years, the historical pattern has been for the era marked by a century to continue into the following century by fourteen or fifteen years.

Let me explain.  Everyone knows that the 19th Century, its uprightness, its optimism and sense of purpose, the halcyon days of British Empire, came to an end with World War I, starting in 1914 and building to a nasty crescendo by 1916.  The 20th Century had arrived, and it had some real horrors in store for us.   Continue reading “Why I Stopped Worrying And Learned To Love The Currency Collapse”

Mysterious Moose Die-Offs Baffle Scientists and Wildlife OfficialsCare 2 – by Alicia Graef

Moose are quickly disappearing across North America in large numbers. While there are a few theories as to why, scientists have yet to pinpoint the exact cause.

Once thriving moose populations have dwindled in numbers at an unprecedented rate, raising concerns about how their disappearance will affect the ecosystem and how their absence will affect tourism. So far, there are a few explanations about why they’re dying in such large numbers that mostly point to changes resulting from shorter winters and a warming climate. There’s still no one definitive cause, but possibilities include heat stress, parasites and loss of forest cover that is being destroyed by pine bark beetles.   Continue reading “Mysterious Moose Die-Offs Baffle Scientists and Wildlife Officials”

Is Cash Alone Enough for Forced Sterilization Victims?Care 2 – by s.e. smith

North Carolina made headlines this year with its commitment, after ten years of discussion and deliberation, to compensate the victims of forced sterilization in the 20th century. The state’s decision could have major repercussions, as contrary to what one might expect from the parity of coverage in the news, North Carolina wasn’t the biggest offender in the era of widespread forced sterilizations: that honor goes to California, which performed 1/3 (20,000) of the estimated 60,000 forced sterilizations between the early 1900s and the 1960s. (Virginia came in second, with a little over 8,000 sterilizations.) Those states could be held equally accountable in coming years, requiring a substantial cash payout.   Continue reading “Is Cash Alone Enough for Forced Sterilization Victims?”

naomi wolfaThe Common Sense Show – by Dave Hodges

According to Naomi Wolf’s New York State Supreme Court complaint, she first discovered “unexplained activity” on her three Washington Mutual (WaMu) checking accounts in 2005. The prominent feminist author claims that she diligently sought to “monitor the activity of her accounts.” However, Wolf was blocked in her own self-monitoring efforts when WaMu stopped sending her monthly statements and denied her access to her online account. The net result of WaMu’s alleged actions is that Wolf alleges that more than $300,000 was stolen from her three accounts and this resulted in her filing a law suit against the bank. What happened to Naomi Wolf is going to be played out all across this country. And we are not going to have long for all of us to realize that we are Naomi Wolf.   Continue reading “Don’t Leave Your Money in the Bank Without Reading This First”

I can totally believe what the Disaster Nurse had to say in her Q-Alert. She gave the conformation I was looking for. I was told yesterday during prayer time for the military and police “Stop, it is over”! This morning while in prayer I asked the Lord if I should write about the psychological preparation needed for the days ahead. The dark side’s testing, will yield behavior patterns they will be counting on as they game the upcoming collapse. I got my answer when I read what the Disaster Nurse had to reveal.   Continue reading “Christians will have to get their mind clearly decided on what they will do well before the coming civil war starts”
