New York Post – by GLENN HARLAN REYNOLDS

While politicians talk about expanding background checks for gun owners, I’m starting to think that what we really need are IQ tests for political officeholders. The only problem is, that might leave us with a lot of vacancies in Congress and America’s statehouses.

The debacle over New York’s rushed-through gun bill is one example of what happens when enthusiasm meets stupid. But another is to be found in Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), who supports a ban on full-capacity magazines without understanding what a magazine actually is.   Continue reading “We need an IQ test for politicians”

Gun ConfiscationAmmoLand – by Dan Roberts

Manasquan, NJ –-(Ammoland.com)- Remember all those who denied that firearms confiscation as a result of New York’s new gun laws was too “insane” to even consider?

That it was strictly in the realm of paranoid conspiracy theorists and the “it cant happen here crowd”?   Continue reading “NY Gun Confiscation Underway – Citizens Told to Turn in Pistol Owner ID & Firearms”

Colony Collapse Disorder has killed half of the honeybees in the United States this year alone. Catholic Online

LOS ANGELES, CA (Catholic Online) – Scientists and beekeepers have been baffled by Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) which is characterized by the sudden disappearance of the hive’s worker population.

According to the USDA, Symptoms of CCD include few or no adult honeybees present, honey and immature bees (broods) remain present in the hive suggesting a sudden abandonment of the hive–a possible response to stress. However, the bees are never found elsewhere, they simply disappear and die. Usually, the queen bee is left behind but dies without establishing a new population.    Continue reading “Devastating honeybee loss reported across United States expected to impact food prices”

An Argentine man who thought he bought a pair of poodles at an outdoor market in Buenos Aires brought them home to the vet only to be told they were actually ferrets on steroids, reports the Daily Mail.

The man, a retiree from Catamarca, purchased the animals at La Salada, Argentina’s largest bazaar.   Continue reading “Man buys toy poodles, discovers they’re actually ferrets on steroids”

President  Obama recently gave a speech in Colorado regarding the new gun laws that have  just been passed. As always Mr. Obama tried to give the impression that he had  the support of everyone and their brother as he had the local police force set  up behind him.

That same day the county sheriff made a video ridiculing such a  stunt and supporting the second amendment. We need more like him to take a  stand.   Continue reading “The Constitution does constrain the President, for now?”

Before It’s News – by Frosty Wooldridge

The First Basic Law of Human Stupidity asserts without ambiguity: always and inevitably everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation. At first, the statement sounds trivial. Closer scrutiny reveals its veracity. No matter how high are one’s estimates of human stupidity, one is repeatedly startled by the fact that: people whom one had once judged rational and intelligent turn out to be unashamedly stupid. Additionally, day after day, with unceasing monotony, one is harassed in one’s activities by stupid individuals who appear suddenly and unexpectedly in the most inconvenient places and at the most improbable moments. (Source: Carlo M. Cipolla, Professor of Economics, UC Berkeley)  Continue reading “First Law of Human Stupidity: Exposing a mass amnesty’s ultimate results”

RainThe Intel Hub – by JG Vibes

The Maryland government, under direct order of Obama and the EPA will now begin taxing the state’s 10 largest counties according to the rain that falls on their property and the “impervious surfaces” on their land.

Yesterday we reported that Wesley Snipes was finally released from prison after serving a 3 year sentence for refusing to pay the government extortion racket known as “taxation”.  If you had a difficult time seeing through the scam of taxation with that story, hopefully this one can show you how taxation is blatant theft and thuggery.   Continue reading “MD Residents to Pay New “Rain Tax” For Rain That Falls on Their Property”

Thousands of gallons of oil have spilled from a pipeline in Texas, the third accident of its kind in only a week.

Shell Pipeline, a unit of Royal Dutch Shell Plc, shut down their West Columbia, Texas, pipeline last Friday after electronic calculations conducted by the US National Response Center showed that upwards of 700 barrels had been lost, amounting to almost 30,000 gallons of crude oil.   Continue reading “Third major oil spill in a week: Shell pipeline breaks in Texas”

A new ACLU report accuses Ohio courts of imprisoning people who are unable to pay court fees. The group, which claims to have found evidence in seven counties, likened the practice to a resurgence of debtor’s prisons – which were outlawed by the 1830s.

Entitled “The Outskirts of Hope,” the report also accuses Ohio judges of consistently denying those locked up in such circumstances court hearings to prove their financial status.   Continue reading “ACLU catches Ohio jailing those too poor to pay fines”

What does spring taste like?

Fresh asparagus dripping with butter.  Small, sweet early strawberries.  Tender, delicate baby lettuce.  Sweet cobbler offset by tart, tangy rhubarb.  Fresh  dainty peas blanched for just a few seconds so that they burst in your mouth.   Continue reading “The Reasons for (Eating by) the Seasons”

It was reported in the mainstream about this time last year that we were seeing an exodus of illegal aliens leaving the United States because of our bad jobs market.  We called this fraud a fraud and countered that as amnesty was being pushed at every level and as the US safety net is open to any and every illegal, quite the opposite would have to be the reality.  And now we are finding out that we were absolutely correct in our deduction.

It was recently reported that only 3% of those attempting to invade across our southern border are even being acknowledged as the multitudes continue to swarm in.  The fact is the numbers coming in from the south are escalating as new guarantees for amnesty are being put forth by the traitors in both the false left and false right of the false paradigm.   Continue reading “How many illegal foreigners are there actually in the United States?”

The sleazy little communist parasite, Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy, was talking with Candy Crowley yesterday on CNN.  All one needs to do is watch this guy for about 5 minutes to be put on communist overload.  The sleazy little twit actually had the nerve to put forth the bald faced lie that incidents of gun violence are more predominant in the states with the most lax gun laws.  This pathetic little bastard has zero scruples and no problem with telling a lie, especially when he knows it is a lie.

The sleazy little spineless worm put forth the question, “Tell me why I can’t get on a plane without someone doing a background check, but I can walk into stores or to gun shows in the United States and no background check is done.  It doesn’t make any sense.”   Continue reading “Dan Malloy tells Connecticut Gun Manufacturers to go to Hell”

Activist Post – by Joe Wright

Do you hate paying taxes? Are you fighting foreclosure? Do you feel like no one should be allowed to commit violence against you and don’t always blindly follow the commands of the authorities? Do you film encounters with police or believe gold makes better currency than Federal Reserve Notes? Well you might be part of a domestic terrorism movement and not even know it.

On Friday, the Los Angeles Times posted an article attempting to define a domestic terrorist movement consisting of as many as 300,000 Americans. Some are even labeled as non-violent “paper terrorists”.    Continue reading “Feds Identify 300,000 Americans as Terrorists”

The Free Foundation – by Dr. Ron Paul

A common feature of authoritarian regimes is the criminalization of alternatives to government-controlled education. Dictators recognize the danger that free thought poses to their rule, and few things promote the thinking of “unapproved” thoughts like an education controlled by parents instead of the state. That is why the National Socialist (Nazi) government of Germany outlawed homeschooling in 1938.

Sadly, these Nazi-era restrictions on parental rights remain the law in Germany, leaving parents who wish greater control over their children’s education without options. That is why in 2006 Uwe and Hannalore Romeike, a German couple who wanted to homeschool their three children for religious reasons, sought asylum in the United States. Immigration judge Lawrence Burman upheld their application for asylum, recognizing that the freedom of parents to homeschool was a “basic human right.”   Continue reading “Homeschooling: The Future of Liberty”
